Arashatora
The vaccine is safe except in extremely rare cases. At the rate we are having cases, we will reach a threshold where numbers have to go down, so I honestly believe the tipping point won't be that much longer. Dobbs and Fauci both have mentioned other strains coming etc. I'm not sure what to believe about what they even say. Fauci just said on msnbc that it's bad if you get a booster shot too quick. Now he'll probably say the opposite tomorrow I know. I know several people with medical conditions who fear(with a doctors advice) getting the jab and know several 20-25 yr old males who are aware of studies which show heart issues in active healthy males in that age group. So I'm gonna have to disagree with your last sentence. Dobbs and Fraudci have as much sense as Biden

Dubaction
I’d love to know where you pulled that information from. That’s basically implying the vaccination is pointless.

Arashatora
The viral loads are the same in those with breakthrough infections, which is a small percentage of those that are vaccinated and get infected.

It’s not a small percentage anymore. It’s steadily decreased in effectiveness, and is now only 39% effective according to a recent Israeli study. Israel is heavily vaccinated, and experiencing a surge. Edited August 20, 2021 by Chunky6617
Arashatora
87% of the breakthrough cases in Israel are age 60+. The majority of people vaccinated will not experience breakthrough cases.

s1nglewing
For those who are flagging/reporting others comments as being false information or misleading... there is a reason most sports forums do not allow political and/or covid posts. MST, as of now, does not disallow such posts and they will not be moderated.
Archer
The vaccine's efficacy is preventing transmission is unequivocally waning for those who were injected months ago. It's been proven in Israel and Iceland, two countries with extremely high rates of vaccination which are experiencing massive spikes in positive cases. Thus, the call for a booster which Israel has begun administering.

The majority of people vaccinated will not experience breakthrough cases. This is simply not true, and the age is not relevant. We have stopped collecting data on breakthrough cases (how convenient). The efficacy rate isn’t determined by age. It’s 39%. Is that in mostly older patients, probably. But it’s still 39%. That’s very low, and actually lower than the requirement to remain under emergency authorization. It’s still showing to be effective against severe illness and death, but even those criteria are dropping in efficiency as well. The CDC director said yesterday that those vaccinated early are at an increase risk of severe illness. This is why they are now calling for booster shots. And that has many doctors pretty upset. We messed up by trying to tell every single person under the sun to get vaccinated. That strategy is what will lead to escape variants. We should have had focused protection on the elderly and those with underlying conditions, while also advocating for early treatment with antivirals. Young people really should not be getting vaccinated unless they have underlying health conditions. You can still contract, carry, and spread the virus after the vaccine. It may weaken symptoms but there would still be plenty of positive cases So what's your solution? You're against mask and vaccination. What should we do to combat covid 19?

pancho
I know a guy whose wife got the jab 3 months ago and neither him or his 3 kids got the jab. She tested positive 2 weeks ago and they all ended up positive that week. The wife in currently hospitalized and the other four of them are fine and were treated OTC from the drug store.
