Only SEC bowl game so far was Mizzou losing to Wake on Friday. Things start to pick up tomorrow with the Liberty Bowl and Texas Bowl.

I like Arkansas over Kansas. KU was a good story early on but really had a poor finish to the season. I kinda think the Hogs run all over them.

Going with a little bit of an upset in Houston and saying that Texas Tech beats Ole Miss. Tech finished the year hot and will be excited to play an SEC team, OM finished the year cold and I’ve kinda gotten the sense they don’t really want to be in this bowl. Expecting a shootout but going with the team I believe will be more up for the game. I think Tech made a strong hire with Joey McGuire and their OC Zach Kittley is one of fastest the rising stars in the coaching profession, he was at Houston Baptist two years ago.

Great predictions here.  You read that Ole Miss game like a newspaper 📰.  I guess that comes with the territory of keeping your friends close and your enemies closer.  Great job 👏!

I don’t think I have ever seen a worse performance by an offensive line. Especially in the first half. I hated the fake punt which a blind man seen from a mile away. I didn’t mind going for it so much on 4th down. But gosh the O line was just horrible. Judkins didn’t have a chance to get them when he is getting hit in the backfield. Defense played good enough to pull out a win but OM couldn’t catch a break. Some very poor missed calls. On the TD before half the TE is blocking his guy into the end zone when the guy catches it. On another one the LT is about 5 yards down field. The missed face mask on Evans. Dart took a couple shots after he threw the ball. But OM made too many costly mistakes and TT capitalized on them. Nice hustle by Battles to knock the ball out for a touchback. Dart showed toughness and flashes of why he won the job. Now he gets a whole offseason to get better.

Great gesture by TT and then a classy move by Ole Miss to decline the penalty.

What in the world happened to Ole Miss? I was at the State basketball game and only heard the last half of the fourth quarter. Listening to the radio, I heard them mention five turnovers and the OL’s run block was abysmal in the first half. Obviously 5 TO’s will lose you most games but presumably there were some other issues as well. Certainly a disappointing game for Ole Miss.

And then Arkansas? Last I heard yesterday it was 38-13 then did not know anything until late last night and saw where they won in OT.

Good grief.

If Dart doesn’t get better in the off-season then teams are just going to keep selling out to stop the run and making Dart win games with his arm, which he frankly hasn’t shown that he can do yet. Obviously his OL wasn’t very good this year either, and the OM defense seemed to take a step back too.

At the end of the day, this was always an average team whose record was very inflated by a soft schedule. And now defenses seem to be getting a better idea of how to defend the Kiffin offense. All of that, plus the obvious concerns that your coach would rather be somewhere else, have Ole Miss in a weird spot going into 2023.

I'd never try to pin that loss last night on the officiating, but yes there were some horribly missed calls for certain. Maybe it swings things, but maybe it doesn't. It went all the way down to the last two-point conversion. Wade was held big time on the play and could not get to the ball or complete his route. Had that been completed we are down 8 with over three minutes to play and probably never attempt that onsides kick that was returned for a TD.

All that aside, though, we were so non-traditional in our fourth down play calling it was downright comical. I can only assume it was done because the game meant little in the grand scheme of things. Almost like Kiffin was thinking, "What the hell? Let's see how this goes." The whole bowl approach needs to be revamped. There are simply too many. Maybe we can sneak into the playoffs when it gets to 12 teams. At any rate, Dart will be just fine. Our O-line is the bigger issue. Got to be so much better it's not even funny. Kiffin needs to earn that money and quit flirting with others while he's here if indeed he was and if he's not, he needs to shut it down publicly if falsely accused. The team and the program deserve better.

The last two years OM has been so good at running the ball, is the OL good at run blocking and bad at pass blocking or is it schemes and technique?

Georgia/Ohio State was a pretty good game, too

Awesome.  That’s what the semifinals should look like if you have the 4 best teams (no offense to Bama and Tennessee fans, lol).

That timeout before Ohio State’s fake punt was just in time.  There were so many big plays in both games.

Two awesome games. Thought Georgia-Ohio State might be closer than many expected. And OSU probably should’ve won. Any time you blow a 14 point lead in the fourth quarter it’s going to be tough to swallow.

How bout the Frogs, though? 4 wins last year, hired a new coach, and now are playing for a national title. Unreal. I will definitely be in their corner for the title game. No idea if they can beat Georgia but I’d love to see it,

Don’t usually root against an SEC team but I have always liked TCU. Lived in DFW about 40 years ago and that particular year they were good and I have liked them ever since.

So I will enjoy the game and will be okay either way though I will be rooting for the Frogs during the game.

We had a Maroon Tide football player play for TCU back in the late 90s and early 2000s.  His name is Greg Walls and he was a starter for them.  He was a real good defensive back and was probably Dodd’s first D1 prospect as a Head Coach at Picayune.

Not even gonna lie, I have ZERO SEC pride. Lol. My mentality has always been that I’m a State fan and everybody else in the league can go fall in a hole for all I care.

I am 100% for the Frogs in this one. Probably would have cheered for Michigan against Georgia as well.

Last second thoughts:

Not expecting a ton of points. Two strong defenses combined with offenses missing key guys.

At the end of the day I think State is better and more talented and I think they pull together for Leach and find a way to win. Give me State 24-17.

Don’t be shocked if Purdue beats LSU.

Tulane-USC may be a ton of fun. I’ll take the Wave in an upset.

I like Utah over Penn State in the Rose Bowl.

Could never pull for Michigan. Period.

Ohio State is different. I have a very close friend who is an alum there and when he lived in MS he became a huge State fan. So for the most part I am okay with them. Glad it was a great game Saturday with them and Georgia.

Purdue-LSU is a weird one. If LSU comes to play, I like them. Otherwise, Purdue could definitely win.

I like Tulane over SoCal.
Utah over Penn State.

I think State wins one for the Gipper (Coach Leach). A lot of emotions but I get the sense our guys are locked in as well and after the game starts it will settle into a football game. Won’t predict a score but like 83 I think it will be relatively low scoring.
