thats sad.   surely there are rumors of who they want and who is interested.  Will Chris Jones be hired if he applies?

Im sure there are rumors. But for the next two weeks its gonna be pretty quiet down here. Anything you hear definitely isnt coming from the Hattiesburg side.

How did the thread go from Hattiesburg to Oxford?

Because the point was made that Starkville (Chris Jones) is being run off by his superintendent in order for the super to hire who he wants. Jones would be a good fit at Hattiesburg but if a college gig is in the mix I see him taking that.

I quit going to games this year at Lafayette in favor of going to Oxford or driving to Tupelo and South Panola. Better football to watch week in and week out. Talent is bad at Lafayette as mentioned earlier but it’s not 0-10 bad. The coaching is very vanilla and the culture sucks. Period

Well, the superintendent mentioned is directly responsible. He retired from the state several years ago and worked in the insurance field awhile and is now evidently above reproach since he's back in education as a super. He has always seemed like a great guy but he has greatly damaged several sports there. Maybe the board and the parents are okay with the proceedings?

Well hate to bust anyone from Hattiesburg’s bubble but Chris Jones will be the next HC at Hinds Community College not Hattiesburg.

Its ok. HHS will be fine no matter who becomes HC. Who knows HHS could hire in house

Culture at Hattiesburg seemed “soft and undisciplined” to me. 😳

Not as bad as at Laurel. Which is exactly why they have fallen the last couple years.  And it won’t get better any time soon.  Their fans won’t admit it.  But players that transferred there from other schools say the practices are easier. They aren’t made to run as much nor pushed as hard in the weight room.  Go watch their games on YouTube and Facebook last year and the year before. Look how their physically massive lines were bullied around by everyone.  Except the one guard who signed with LSU.
