  1. 6A: Warren Central to Columbus Trip or Columbus to De Soto County with Grenada to Region 2.
  2. 7A: Oxford or Tupelo to Region 2 Harrison Central to Region 3
  3. October 2021 numbers To 7A: Lewisburg, Pearl To 6A: Warren Central, Terry
  4. You go from 7 region games to 5 region games. It's still going to be hard to win it all in each class.
  5. I just got thru looking at 2021-22 numbers bottom/top 8 of each class split roughly. There will be some surprises if they do it now. There will be a major shake up in 4A-2A.
  6. Meridian numbers from MDE: 2020. 2021 9th. 351. 394 10th. 332. 335 11th. 317. 299 12th. 263. 263 Total. 1263. 1291 The 1263 is what is listed on reclassification list. Meridian is definitely trending down from grade to grade. They may very well drop if Middle School drops.
  7. The handbook is updated every two years after reclassification. With that being said it runs thru 22-23 school year. If it is changed for this fall then it has to read either 2022-2024 or 2022-2025. Otherwise all this goes into affect fall of 2023-24 normally. I think the committee wants to see on paper the current set up with current numbers.. Either way someone's traveling.. For example with current numbers Senatobia is the only 4A school in the NW. They will have to travel over to New Albany and Pontotoc or down to Yazoo City and Greenwood. Yazoo County, Yazoo City, and Greenwood are the only 3 in the southern Delta. That forces Kosciusko and Leake Central vs Lanier and Raymond moving into Region 3. It's going to be what it's going to be when it comes to travel. Most of the 4A schools appear to be in the south and in East side of state. I think they should ask for the 2021 numbers and see.
  8. Your always going to coach x that won't play coach y because he's looking for a win not to get blown. Your always going to have that always will.
  9. If I read it correctly Morton will be 4A and will likely play R5-3A opponent who ever has an open date. Both regions could be or 6 schools.
  10. I just think they want to see the regions as to how they payout. They have to know there will be travel in regions. It may be less travel for some and first time travel for others pending the coast and DeSoto County numbers. They may go with it now or wait who knows.
  11. Clarion Ledger says they will use last year's numbers to see where everyone falls under the 7 class plan. It will not go in to affect until 23-24 school year if passed.
  12. When I get a chance I will go back and look at current #'s 18-30, etc to see whose going up or down in 9-12 grade #'s. Who knows how this will turn out.
  13. Sometimes they spin these stories the way they want you to read them. Either way director has to I am sure present a final draft for the vote. I think some schools will still travel either way they go.
  14. NE Mississippi Daily Journal says reclassification will not take place until 2023-24 school year. It goes on to state the vote was tabled till April to allow for director to work out the districts as to how they will look. I am guessing he will have to request those October numbers for this school year 21-22 to be accurate or use the old ones.
  15. There was a fight in the Delta as well. Girls, benches, fans, parents, police
  16. I looked at some numbers from October 2021. Matter of fact 8-11 which will be next year's 9-12 put Picayune as 6A. Enterprise was lower than the current numbers so you may be 2A depending on the cut line. Bay Springs may be 2A again pending the cut line. I think Enterprise was at 288 vs Bay Springs 239. Picayune has a larger 8th grade so certainly they will go 6A eventually for at least 2 years. None of us know exactly what the proposal is. That's the million dollar question along with what they turn in on October 1, 2022. They will be eyeing this new set up closely especially if they are close to the current dividing line.
  17. I used 8-11 which will be next year's 9-12 on October 1 2022. It's my understanding they may use just 9-11. If so I should use 8-11. Let's see the final proposal furst.
  18. 8-11 this year will become next year's 9-12. I may very well go back and look at this year's numbers 9-12 to see for sure. However word was a proposal was going to be introduced to use only 9-11.
  19. I just posted a breakdown of 7A--5A
  20. Picayune will be 6A Bay Springs could be 2A Enterprise will not be #1
  21. Based on 8-11 grades for 21-22 school year: 7A--1: DeSoto Central l, Hernando, Horn Lake, Lewisburg, Oxford, Southaven 7A--2: Clinton, Germantown, Madison Central, Murrah, Starkville, Tupelo 7A--3: Brandon, Meridian, NW Rankin, Oak Grove, Pearl, Petal 7A--4: Biloxi, Gulfport, Hancock, Harrison Central, Ocean Springs, St Martin 6A--1: Center Hill, Grenada, Lake Cormorant, Olive Branch, Saltillo, South Panola 6A--2: Columbus, Greenville, Jim Hill, Neshoba Central, Ridgeland, Warren Central 6A--3: Forrest Hill, Hattiesburg, PRC, Picayune, Terry, West Jones 6A--4: D'Iberville, Gautier, George County, West Harrison, Long Beach, Pascagoula 5A--1: Caledonia, Clarksdale, Cleveland Central, Lafayette County, Pontotoc, West Point 5A--2: Calloway, Canton, Gentry, Holmes County Central, New Hope, Vicksburg 5A--3: Brookhaven, Florence, Natchez, North Pike, Provine, Wingfield 5A--4: East Central, Laurel, South Jones, Stone County, Vancleave, Wayne County
  22. He's off on his counting: Terry will be the smallest 7A not St Martin. Lewisburg largest 6A down to Gautier and Natchez. Unless he's seeing numbers we don't see like October 2021 numbers.
  23. The title of the article suggest Fall 2022. The handbook, reclassification is done every 2 years. This has to be approved by this fall for this type of reclassification to go into affect in 2023-25. Do we use October 1, 2021 numbers and go ahead or we go the normal route of October 1, 2022 numbers for Fall of 2023.
  24. October 1, 2021 will determine those numbers if this goes in affect Fall 2022.

How long will it take to build a new school? With warp speed after the bond vote comes the ground clearing of over 100 acres, road, parking, building layout. I will say with good weather maybe January of 2023 at the earliest will be full go. Fall of 2023 most likely. I heard Fall of 2024 or 25.
