No he will coach 2 seasons and then he may be the Simpson County Coach if they bring the one it to be in now.
  2. My guess is if a proposal was made then it has to go back to district meetings for a vote. I am sure a final vote on the 2023-25 handbook changes will be taken before reclassification can be put in order.
  3. Final proposal to be voted on in April meeting.
  4. If you go 9-11 for classification all the Jackson schools may drop a class or two
  5. I am guessing they may be changing from doubling privates schools numbers for classification vs now having them play up. Most of those numbers are 1A and thus thar would create a Region 8-2A that includes OLA, St Stan, St Patrick, Resurrection, and East Marion.
  6. If numbers are not doubled and private schools play up: St Patrick, OLA, and St Andrew's already playing up. St Stan may be playing up 2 classes if 4A.
  7. If 6 Remaining private schools leave then: 7A 1-24 6A 25-48 5A 49-72 4A 73-112 3A 113-152 2A 153-192 39 football MSMS 1A 193-243 35+/- football
  8. St Stan has already played 4A. St Andrew's, Sacred Heart, Tupelo Christian Prep, and St Patrick may be leaving.
  9. Travel will be a nightmare know matter what class their in. Their looking for more level playing competition.
  10. That depends on the class they get put in. 1A and 2A only play within those 2 classes due to being 8 man football.
  11. Travel will become an issue. Only Christian Collegiate and Ben's Ford are within 2 hr drive for 8 man. Sylva Bay closest in 3A.
  12. The handbook says 9-12 grade as of October 1. I agree that 12th grade shall be graduated and not count. 8th grade should be counted. However, in Jackson alone different middle schools feed different high schools. May very well be that way in other districts. Some kids may split off into different high schools.
  13. I thought it's always been 8--11 which will be 9--12the next year. The problem may be that most 8th grades are middle school and it takes extra time to get numbers. Technically all you would have to do is fill our a form and fax it in with the numbers. You have to trust the numbers.
  14. I believe they were right at or near #46 which will be small 6A or large 5A with the split.
  15. 21-22 numbers 8th--11th grade which will be next year's 9th-11th grade. I took the split roughly from last year's numbers roughly #18-30, #40-55, #65--80 just to see. You have to figure the rest will be what they are for example #1--17 will be in the top 24. There were a few changes up and down. It's going to all pan out. It would be nice if they get the October 2021 numbers and post them. In the past if a school only includes 10th-12th grade and 9th was middle school. One of those numbers was counted twice to get 4 grades total.
  16. Jim Hill/Pearl will be the split. Pearl located east and along I-20. Jim Hill is located west and just north of HWY 80. Simpson County will not be figured in until fall of 2025 with 2024-25 October numbers. I look for the school to play 1 year independent/Mendenhall schedule.
  17. Now that I got home let me correct myself: Terry replaces Pearl in 7A-3, Pearl goes to 6A-2. 6A-3 is Petal, Hattiesburg, Jim Hill, Forest Hill, West Jones, Natchez. The problem is you have to know which Middle School in JPS feeds the high school. That I am unsure. 6A-4 adds PRC, East Central goes to 5A-4 with Pass Christian. Laurel, South Jones, NE Jones goes to 5A-3. There will be travel no matter what for some teams.
  18. I am hearing Laurel numbers are down. Most likely dropping to 4A if they stay at 6 classes.
  19. 7A Region 3: Brandon, Harrison Central, Meridian, NW Rankin, Oak Grove , Pearl 7A Region 4: Biloxi, D'Iberville, Gulfport, Hancock, Ocean Springs, St Martin 6A Region 3: Hattiesburg, PRC, Petal, Picayune, Terry, West Jones 6A Region 4: East Central, Gautier, George County, Long Beach, Pascagoula, West Harrison 5A Region 3: Brookhaven, Florence, Forest Hill, Jim Hill, Natchez, North Pike 5A Region 4: Laurel, NE Jones, South Jones, Stone County, Vancleave, Wayne County
  20. I am thinking one of those 8 will be 5A. That 5A Region will include Wayne County, Laurel, South Jones, Petal, and Stone County. It's got to be George County I think.
  21. 7A Biloxi, Gulfport, Hancock, Harrison Central, D'Iberville, St Martin 6A those 8 2 of those 8 will join West Jones, Hattiesburg, Pearl, Terry, Forest Hill and Jim Hill will be in play for Region 2 or 3 but not both.
  22. My 21-22 numbers puts 8 6A schools on the coast. 2 schools will move North. Not likely to send North Pike to Pascagoula. PRC and Picayune are farthest west and north.
