40 schools in 2A and 5 per region. You can switch Kemper and Philadelphia.
-
Once this passes you will have to transfer to a larger school to get that kind of money. Then you will have to file it on taxes as income or a write off to the business.
-
I certainly considered Region 5 as Enterprise, Heidelberg, Bay Springs, Mize. Region 6 as Philadelphia, Newton, Scott Central, Pelahatchie, Puckett. Also Wesson to Region 5.

If John Doe Jones a man with money drops the money off in a bag while visiting the coach at coaches house nothing has to be known. If you do in in front of 5 people inside your office on main street you might get caught. If coach let's it out you might get caught.

One time item on the agenda for next board meeting. 1 year reclassification to line up with Alabama/Louisiana for scheduling. Currently we are lined up with Arkansas/Tennessee.
-
Pine Grove will move up at 145. My projection is Myrtle will move to Region 2 and be replace by Pine Grove in Region 1. Charleston will drop to Region 3.

I don't teach. I just know that each district has a different schedule. Some 6 blocks and others have 7 blocks. While Rankin County starts school at 7:30 am and Smith County starts at 8 am. I have family members that teach, principal, etc. I don't know for sure but I am guessing that high school sports probably starts at 3 pm now for most schools.

Adjusted 2A and yes I toyed with some of the geography of schools before settling on my region projections: Region 1 6 Aberdeen 199 8 Hatley 198 12 East Union 188 28 Baldwyn 164 33 Myrtle 156 Region 2 3 Holly Springs 204 9 Northside 191 14 MS Palmer 185 17 Charleston 179 24 HW Byers 151 Region 3 2 Water Valley 205 7 Thomas Edwards 198 30 Riverside 161 38 JZ George 144 40 Leland 141 Region 4 11 Eupora 189 13 Kemper County 186 22 East Webster 175 24 Bruce 174 27 Vardaman 167 Region 5 5 Scott Central 200 19 Pelahatchie 177 20 Newton 176 23 Puckett 174 36 Philadelphia 149 Region 6 10 Enterprise Clarke 189 16 Mize 183 25 North Forrest 170 31 Bay Springs 159 35 Heidelberg 150 Region 7 1 Wesson 205 4 Amite County 204 18 Loyd Star 178 32 Wilkinson County 158 39 West Lincoln 143 Region 8 15 Bogue Chitto 185 21 Perry Central 176 26 St Stanislaus 170 29 Sacred Heart 164 37 East Marion 146

Coaches have 1 to 2 blocks for Jr High football, and maybe 1 block at 2pm to start coaching High School. In the 80s we got out of 5th block at 1:50 for breakfast and Bobby Hall expected you to be in full gear and ready to practice at 2 pm. And if you know anything about what is now Raleigh Elementary woe unto you if you had 11th/12th English in the classroom across from the Baptist church you didn't have time for break. So with that being said a coach can spend 3 blocks a day coaching and 3 blocks a day teaching. And its not that hard to teach history or geography.

Bottom line is not every family can keep up with the Jones. So if your nephew, neice, or neighbor needs a little help then help. It doesn't have to be NIL. Just make sure some of their needs are met if you have extra. And if Piggly Wiggly in 1A/2A school towns, Walmart in larger towns won't to give to player as NIL then sign the documents and bring the kid in for image and likeness as it was intended as I heard on the radio that Daq would receive NIL funds but at the same time Daq will be down at the Ford dealership in Starkville advertising and making TV ads.

Tax write off for local Piggly Wiggly's.

State wide NIL bill. 1 $10,000 to the student signed by student and parent on contract. 2 Anything over that amount will be put into a trust until student turns 18 or graduates. 3 Over $10,000 must be reported to MHSAA with no administrative duties by MHSAA 4 All school employees can not be involved with giving out money, contract negotiation, etc, etc. 5 The money must come from a business person, car dealership, sewing factory, etc with consult of their lawyers(legal contract), etc.

Rural counties like Wilkinson, Perry, Smith to name a few are going away because of no industry in the county. No industry means no jobs means everyone is not coming back after college, after joining the military. Then u end up with 1 county school and then it struggles to survive.
-
The last sentence in Section 1 keeps MHSAA rules in place. Many of these bills are start to look like ok MHSAA its time to change or update your by laws. They don't have to pass any change.

My state representative has informed me that home schooling has been lowered to $1000 per year. The bill does not fund private schools. It is understood that parents have the right to send their kids to a better school aka A or B school if their kids are in a failing school. It is also understood that many parents don't have the means to transport their kids to a private school or a lengthy drive. So don't look for many parents to send their kid for example to Parklane or Cathedral from Wilkinson County.

Transferred to the Senate
-
300% or below according to Jason White. Not sure how that becomes a dollar figure.
-
Again this bill is for 12,500 students at a rate of $6500 to change schools if their income falls under the 300% poverty rate. I will assume that household income has to be below $50,000 annually. Probably way lower than that. But then who knows MAIS changes their regions today, strengthening their recruitment rules and someone introduces a bill to increase ICE in Mississippi and force us to get some type of permit to hunt animals on our own property that damage our land and crops. They have about as much chance of improving education in Mississippi as stopping that hunter killing a feral hog rooting up his land as a parent moving from Wilkinson or Holmes County sending their kid to a improved school some 40 miles away in either Adams County Christian or Manchester. You will have some that will attempt to improve their kids grades but most won't. I really hated to write this but I feel those in Jackson might as well fund an charter school in each county and send the struggling kids to that school than send someone from Taylorsville to SImpson Academy.
-
12,500, i don't know if that's yearly or whatever.
-
Pending who is in charge and if he goes along with the politicians in the county.
-
Governor Bryant had intentions of turning it over to JSU i thought. Seems like the state may take it back pending the commission ideas and decisions.

SB2017 Various Obsolete Commissions Repealed: Passed the Senate on 1/19/26 Section 12 Mississippi Memorial Stadium Commission

Voting differently is not the issue at this point with Wilkinson County. I don't believe these poor poverished parents are going to travel 40 to 50 miles every morning to take their kids to a better school. The money is not there. It will take a new board, new superintendent, new leadership, etc to straighten that county out sitting down there in SW corner of the state below Natchez and West of McComb. Will they be willing to move maybe. Homeschool I doubt it will work for some.
