HB 2 narrowly passed 61-59 & 2 not voting. Amotion has made to reconsider the bill. The bill does not allow for the students current district to gave a say in the transfer. MHSAA will have the say in athletic transfers. The democrats unanimously voted against it. APPXa dozen or so Republicans voted against it. So it will be on the calendar today for a rediscussion and revote.

Breaking News: Apparently the State Senate isn't interested in allowing state funds to funneled to private schools.

the1-Less than 1500 students in a district with multiple schools consolidate the schools or consolidate the counties. 82 is too many counties. 2-Counties with less than 3500 students and multiple districts then consolidate the district offices.

I just hope MHSAA is involved in talks regarding by laws on recruiting, transferring, and homeschooling participation in sports.

Watching the news and their are 18 different issues with the House Bill. The black caucus is opposed to the bill and hoping to keep it passing at 2/3 vote. They want to vote on individual issues. Apparently medicade is in the bill and I wonder why.
-
How many of those if any will qualify as poverished at pr below 300%.
-
Most homeschooling kids are nearly or about to be dropouts anyway. And I doubt those play sports. And many are not necessarily in poverty. I think most of these 12,500 kids end up coming from the Delta. Will the Delta MAIS schools come calling will be the question. I guess we will have to see who all signs up. We will have to wait and see MHSAA position on this.
-
And will MHSAA make changes is the million dollar question
-
Just a possibility: Region 1 Booneville Itawamba Ripley Senatobia Tishomingo Region 2 Amory New Albany N Pontotoc S Pontotoc Shannon Region 3 Clarksdale Gentry Houston or Lanier Kosciusko or Raymond Yazoo City Region 4 Caledonia Louisville Houston or NE Lauderdale Kosciusko or W Lauderdale Choctaw Central or Leake Central

Righrt defense can frustrate the PCS qb. He begs for flag on missed plays.
-
Unless the numbers go up this fall they will be 4A in 2027.
-
House Bill 2 is 553 pages. Changes will be made. Taking public money to private schools should be the first change.
-
MHSAA will have to change their by laws. By Laws change process starts at district levels first. Its not happening for fall of 2026. Fall of 2027 maybe.
