Owens might be going to state now that Lebby and Arnett have hired Raleigh native and defensive backs coach Kevie Thompson. Thompson has been a long time asst in the high school and juco ranks in Mississippi. He has produced some of the best defenses in Mississippi. He also coached under Tony Hughes. Lebby will address the hiring this weak. Purely a move to improve the defense and recruiting vs Moncrief being at Ole Miss.

I totally agree. Now that we have the 2-2-3 format for the football championships I will not be surprised if they try some day for 8 classes.

Looking at future reclassification i can do what I did last time. I will have to go with the numbers for 7th thru 9th grade as a guess for 23-24 school year. They have not posted the 24-25 or 25-26 numbers with the new system. Its there somewhere. What i will do is: Last groupings For 7A: Take bottom 6 of 7A top 5 of 6A For 6A: Take bottom 5 of 6A top 5 of 5A For 5A: Take bottom 5 of 5A top 8 of 4A For 4A: Take bottom 10 of 4A top 10 of 3A For 3A: Take bottom 10 of 3A top 10 of 2A For 2A: Take bottom 10 of 2A top 10 of 1A For 1A: Take bottom 10 of 2A **North Tippah is consolidating ** Leflore County is consolidating with new school at some point. May get to it at some point. All others will likely remain in their class currently.

I thought my research says Tville is 8-5. I may be wrong.

I don't see any changes for a number of years. There is just not enough schools to go beyond 7 classes. Changing the split could happen someday.

Region 8 meeting on the coast tonight. Region 7 meeting in Wesson on Wednesday. We will see if anything passed as regard to reclassification, etc.

Once u get on 25 at Lena, Carthage, or Louisville its not that bad. 13 north of Morton is like I-20 east of Jackson. They will soon as the clearing is finished between Pelahatchie and Brandon they will begin removing I-20 and a complete rebuild. So if your traveling from Meridian to Jackson I would suggest to take an alternate route.

Oak Grove is #6 in enrollment in 2024. They would have to loose 125 to 150 students per class. Yes I can see some people moving away from West Hattiesburg but I don't see that big of drop coming in 2026.

West Point played a weak region and playoff schedule. Not prepared. 5A South is tougher to win.

MDE did not post the data for 2024-2025 & 2025-26 school years. I believe if you wanted a guess of what your school numbers may be for 2026 you can use the 2023-2024 7th thru 9th grade numbers. I could take a look if necessary. My only interest will be the current top 10 or bottom 10 of a particular class.

The New MDE program does not post the 2025 numbers. If that continues no one will be able to look them up next year.

District 7 and 8 meetings are next week. It might too late until Spring to discuss that issue.
