Coaches have 1 to 2 blocks for Jr High football, and maybe 1 block at 2pm to start coaching High School. In the 80s we got out of 5th block at 1:50 for breakfast and Bobby Hall expected you to be in full gear and ready to practice at 2 pm. And if you know anything about what is now Raleigh Elementary woe unto you if you had 11th/12th English in the classroom across from the Baptist church you didn't have time for break. So with that being said a coach can spend 3 blocks a day coaching and 3 blocks a day teaching. And its not that hard to teach history or geography.

Bottom line is not every family can keep up with the Jones. So if your nephew, neice, or neighbor needs a little help then help. It doesn't have to be NIL. Just make sure some of their needs are met if you have extra. And if Piggly Wiggly in 1A/2A school towns, Walmart in larger towns won't to give to player as NIL then sign the documents and bring the kid in for image and likeness as it was intended as I heard on the radio that Daq would receive NIL funds but at the same time Daq will be down at the Ford dealership in Starkville advertising and making TV ads.

Rural counties like Wilkinson, Perry, Smith to name a few are going away because of no industry in the county. No industry means no jobs means everyone is not coming back after college, after joining the military. Then u end up with 1 county school and then it struggles to survive.

The last sentence in Section 1 keeps MHSAA rules in place. Many of these bills are start to look like ok MHSAA its time to change or update your by laws. They don't have to pass any change.

My state representative has informed me that home schooling has been lowered to $1000 per year. The bill does not fund private schools. It is understood that parents have the right to send their kids to a better school aka A or B school if their kids are in a failing school. It is also understood that many parents don't have the means to transport their kids to a private school or a lengthy drive. So don't look for many parents to send their kid for example to Parklane or Cathedral from Wilkinson County.

Again this bill is for 12,500 students at a rate of $6500 to change schools if their income falls under the 300% poverty rate. I will assume that household income has to be below $50,000 annually. Probably way lower than that. But then who knows MAIS changes their regions today, strengthening their recruitment rules and someone introduces a bill to increase ICE in Mississippi and force us to get some type of permit to hunt animals on our own property that damage our land and crops. They have about as much chance of improving education in Mississippi as stopping that hunter killing a feral hog rooting up his land as a parent moving from Wilkinson or Holmes County sending their kid to a improved school some 40 miles away in either Adams County Christian or Manchester. You will have some that will attempt to improve their kids grades but most won't. I really hated to write this but I feel those in Jackson might as well fund an charter school in each county and send the struggling kids to that school than send someone from Taylorsville to SImpson Academy.

Voting differently is not the issue at this point with Wilkinson County. I don't believe these poor poverished parents are going to travel 40 to 50 miles every morning to take their kids to a better school. The money is not there. It will take a new board, new superintendent, new leadership, etc to straighten that county out sitting down there in SW corner of the state below Natchez and West of McComb. Will they be willing to move maybe. Homeschool I doubt it will work for some.

Agree and get rid of these northerners in that position

The bottom line is if all 1 to 4 schools are in a district with D or F grades then those poor parents will be expecting the school to furnish transportation from home or school some 40 miles away to a A/B school in another district. Otherwise the kid will be homeschooled with subject to dropping out. That's wasted money.

Pearl is located just north of I-20 & i believe they will be south because Jim Hill is North of Hwy 80 in west Jackson.

If they do then others will to. Any way to get $6500 per child.

How many parents do you think will be willing to pull their kids out of JPS and transport them daily to Rankin, Hinds, or Madison County. I say few will do it. It will be the same in the rural areas. Many of these kids ride the bus. The bus at this time isn't leaving the county. They may take them to another A school in the district or county. And yes Jason White spoke to on radio 200 to 300% below poverty level students will get it. The ones who ride a bus and mom and dad might not have transportation.
