Ole Miss is playing dirty tonight. There’s no need for targeting on a punt return. Maybe that’s what it will take for them to get back in the game.

Tolu just didn’t look comfortable on the basketball court and his free throws were just atrocious. If the free throws get made, State has a legitimate shot at winning the game. Tolu has got to get some confidence and some Lawrence Roberts tenacity.

I remember the '07 game against Billy Donovan's #1 ranked Florida squad. There wasn't a place to sit in The Hump. It was slam packed and I had to stand against a wall the whole game. State didn't win that day, but man The Hump was rockin' that day. It was an electric atmosphere for basketball.

I like State's chances if Jans can muster up some offense tonight. If he can't then I see Bama winning this one. It'll be a tough game either way, but I'm glad The Hump will have a sellout crowd. The excitement certainly is there.

Why did they screw up perfection like that? They would have been better off kneeling it and leaving the goose egg on the scoreboard. I guess they just wanted to say they didn't get shut out, when in reality they did.

Florida's bowl game must have been pretty bad because heck I don't even remember it LOL! It must have been one of those early bowls when folks ain't off from work and kids were still in school.

If West Jones, Hattiesburg, Terry, & PRC can all hold serve and beat Forest Hill, then PRC gets in. But yes if Terry & Forest Hill both beat PRC then they will be out. PRC just needs to be better than one other team in their region. Would I like to see them win more than one game? Yes I would, but in theory they can get in with one win against Forest Hill if everyone else does their part.

It’s just mind boggling to me. They don’t have to improve their win total from this year and they can still make the playoffs. Let that sink in for a minute and then you’ll realize the MHSAA is just after filthy lucre.

Was Ole Miss intentionally mediocre on signing day? It seems like they were that way for a reason. Is Lane just a portal guy or something? Because if that’s the case I can understand why they didn’t put much emphasis on signing day.

State had a solid day today on signing day. I'm glad things went well with everything that has gone on.

Here's my take on it. If it's not too late Picayune needs to get with Brandon if it's a home and home series and get the game against Brandon moved to a home game this coming year (2023) and then get the game in 2024 moved to Brandon. It's probably too late for that kind of wishful thinking, but having to play Brandon, D'Iberville, and Gulfport all on the road isn't exactly a Japanese Wagyu A5 either.

I feel like bumping this thread up because well things are quite boring again. Does anyone have any thoughts or concerns about next season? My main concern is the lack of home games we will have. I have no idea who came up with Picayune's schedule for next year, but hopefully we can get a home game for week 2. If not, we'll only have 4 home games. I know that it will probably reverse in 2024, but there needs to be some more balance in regards to that. The season will be nearly a month old before Picayune has it's first home game.

If this school was out in the middle of nowhere where you have to pump daylight in, they might could justify closing it but my goodness this town is right on the Interstate. Scary times we are living in for sure.

Do you think we will emphasize running the football more next year or do you think they will try to keep the Leach playsheet intact?

Hopefully the MHSAA will see the error in their ways one day and bring us back down to 6 classifications, but unfortunately it's all about the almighty dollar for them so that won't be happening any time soon.

Well Carroll is pretty big (land wise not population wise). It's one of the few counties in Mississippi with two county seats, but that's just an example of something similar that has happened in the past.

It's got to be a similar situation when Carroll County shut down Vaiden High School and the kids that went there had to start going to JZ George in North Carrollton. It'll probably make for some long driving to get to school.

I'm not that familiar with North Mississippi, but this town is just South of Memphis and right on I-55. Shouldn't this be a thriving suburb of Memphis? For this school to close makes absolutely no sense. Heck their football stadium even has a nice track around it. Why does Mississippi need more blight? Don't we already have enough?

Go look at the first page of this thread and the 6th post. I mentioned the State of Alabama, but who knows where Ocean Springs will go?
