Oh I understand completely. It was just a neat thought and I know that won't happen, but we have had some good QB's in the past just without top 10 recognition and that's really all we need.

Will Picayune ever have a top 10 QB or is that wishful thinking? If we can have top 10 RB's then let's go ahead and put a QB in the mix. It surely can't hurt.

They might have been trying to preserve his redshirt, but even so he could have still played in 4 games. It's not like it was when Croom had to burn Arceto Clark's redshirt so that he could play. But I also think that State was so deep at LB last year, there just wasn't a whole lot of room. If I were to call it today, I think he will wind up being on the 2 deep this year.

I hope we can see Khalid play some LB this year. He's going to be good.

I just hope they can get him a scholarship.

I'm glad he's staying because he will be a key cog for our offense. On another note, tell me about your boy Vic Sutton. Is he stability behind Parson?

We should have played South Panola for the state title back in 2003. I honestly don't know if they are the favorites coming out of 6A North, but if they are I'd like to see us play them. That would be a great matchup for sure, but both teams would need to keep the head to the plow and take care of business.

I don't even know what that is LOL! If pocket lint were used as a form of currency I'd definitely be able to make the trip to Omaha.

There definitely isn’t any love lost between those old historical battles along Hwy. 11. Laurel-Meridian, Laurel- Hattiesburg, and Hattiesburg-Meridian. All three of those matchups have some real old deep rooted blood feud that goes back a very long time.

Hoover is like the po’ man’s Omaha. You’ve got to have some petty cash lying around to make a trip to Omaha and I could make the drive to Hoover on a whole lot less. I guess you could say that Hoover is the more cost effective option and I wouldn’t mind the experience if the opportunity ever presents itself.

Well I think we know that’s the recipe for us Mississippi SEC teams to have success in regionals and super regionals to get to the CWS, but if State doesn’t have the team this year to make a deep postseason run, then I’d like to see them do well in the SEC Tournament.

70-0 in one football season. That's pretty dang impressive because they'll be playing football games daily for 10 straight weeks.

I'm curious to know which top 10 teams Harrison Central will beat? Is it a certain classification listed since he said all?

Hopefully they'll let Lo get some pitching in. I think everyone wants to see him pitch to one batter right handed and then the next left handed. He definitely has the potential to be a game changer as long as he keeps his pitches in the strike zone from both arms.

Well there certainly isn't any difference in South Mississippi. There may be some difference around Corinth or Southaven, but probably not.

August games don't really bother me either Dub. I'm probably like everyone else wishing it was cooler and less humid that time of year and wanting a break from mowing grass, but with the 7:30 start time the sun is mostly set without that 2:00 in the afternoon frying heat. It's still hot and humid and you're still going to sweat but things could be worse and I've experienced that before.

State's baseball team will be practically brand new. I know we've got some veteran return guys like Hancock and Clark, but I think State gets in the top 25 somewhere along this season. How State finishes though is a complete mystery. I'd like to see State do something in the SEC Tournament because the drive to Hoover isn't that far and State fans could really fill the thing quite well.
