  1. I honestly have no idea what it is (maybe it's an epiphany), but something is telling me George County has a turnaround year this year. I know they've got the hunger to win and that's important, but I think the offseason will pay huge dividends for George County. Maybe you have a more realistic approach as to what they will do this year, but I certainly think Pascagoula and Hancock are beatable for y'all and am I crazy for thinking that or what?
  2. Well Kliff Kingsbury is now available LOL! He probably wants to stay in the NFL (if at all possible), but part of me wonders if he would want to get back into college football to kind of recharge his career. I'm sure there's probably some NFL teams out there salivating at the mouth to get him on their staff in some form or fashion though, but who honestly knows?
  3. @CrimsonUnit1988Do you think George County will have a bounce back year this year? I fully expect them to make the playoffs this year, but can they get the #2 spot? I have a feeling that might be a real possibility, but I could be completely wrong though and that's ok as well. I feel like they'll be an X-factor this year in region 4.
  4. It's been that way for a long time. They don't call it the Clarion Liar for no reason.
  5. The ones that live across the street from Clarkdale in Clarke County should be going to Clarkdale. It makes no sense that they don’t because at one time they used to.
  6. I’m curious to see what the OG/MRA matchup will look like. Unfortunately we’ve got a while to wait for it (over 3/4’s of a year).
  7. Who knows. I’m like Bulldogs4 there. I’ve never heard of him before and I honestly don’t know what the infatuation is there. Maybe it’s the experience factor? But who honestly knows. It’s really up to Zach and who he wants at this point. If it takes some time to get this hire right then so be it. It’s an important hire and one that he needs to get right, because if he doesn’t get this hire right he will be suffering from it long term.
  8. I know you like it Vott. Look where that game falls.
  9. Well hopefully State can get someone else. I don’t think it’s a bad job if they find the right fit, but that will be the key for Arnett. This very well could have been a Jimmy Sexton leverage ploy from the get go.
  10. Who is Murrah required to schedule since they are now independent? I just think they'd be better off disbanding their football program if they feel like they can't compete. If you are giving your players nothing to play for, you have failed them as coaches and teachers. There's nothing wrong with losing with dignity and winning with dignity, but giving your players no hope to achieve anything is a shame and a disgrace to them. You can also interchange Murrah with Jim Hill in this statement as well.
  11. I wonder what the news is on State's OC hiring front? Is Briles still in the picture or are they going a different direction?
  12. I guess A&M just keeps freefalling into the abyss LOL!
  13. I guess whoever State hires as it's next OC, they'll need to bring their luggage with them.
  14. I wonder what all of our backup QB's hitting the portal mean? Is there something between the lines that we should be reading?
  15. Why do you keep digging your hole even further? First of all, this is a classless thread to have even started and now you've thrown a program like South Panola under the bus. You state, "You don't have to win state titles to be a strong program just win consistently." If that's the case South Panola shouldn't be on your list along with probably a pile of others.
  16. If you truly want to help, please pour a bag of lime in the outhouse. It's getting stinky in there.
  17. State fans have been wanting to "Bring Bump Home" for years. Hopefully it will finally happen.
  18. Something must be in the works though because Drew Hollingshead isn't being retained and neither is Steve Spurrier Jr., so lets see what happens in regards to the offense.
  19. Did Mississippi State formally offer the job to Kendal? And if so does State have the necessary capital to hire him away? I would think they would, but you never know.
  20. I honestly think the recipe for Zach Arnett's success as a head coach in the short run will be to give autonomy to whichever Offensive Coordinator he hires, but still have the final stamp of approval and then let himself have control over the defensive side of the ball. It almost needs to be a Leach reversal of sorts kind of where Leach let Zach control the defense. I'm sure Leach had the final say on things as the Head Coach, but he pretty much let Zach do his thing and for Zach to let the Offensive Coordinator do his thing will probably bode well for Zach in the short term. The only reason why I say short term is because of the annual turnover with coaching staffs. Mike Leach proved to be the exception there and I'm glad we had that coaching stability under him.
  21. If this works out, the wheel won't have to be reinvented and he's already got a pass heavy offense to work with so hopefully something will come about. It almost sounds like a better offense for Chris Parson to get in.
  22. If hard times is equivalent to a state title drought, then go ahead and throw Enterprise Clarke in that list as well. But wait, the title of the thread says "Traditionally strong programs", so disregard that line of thought .
  23. Does he take snaps from under center at all with his offense? If so, I think State fans would be extremely on board with him.
  24. Here's my question in regards to 7A. Does anyone in 7A have a tougher gauntlet in 7A than Picayune? We've got 3 of the top 4 on our schedule and Gulfport and Brandon are both road games for us. We also have d'Iberville on the road as well and they are no slouch either. If Picayune gets through the 7A gauntlet unscathed (which I'm not expecting at this point), does Picayune have to play in the 7A title game in lieu of the 6A title game?
