I know it’s going to be a good region and Picayune won’t be in it. That’s what depresses me about next year.
-
Oh I know. I’m going to miss it too. I still can’t wrap my head around this 6A/7A junk, but 6A is where we’ll be. Even though for the sake of the rivalries and competition 5A will be sorely missed and there’s probably a good bit of the Maroon Tide faithful that will still be 5A at heart and long for the good ole’ days.
-
I think Wayne County will be set up quite nicely in 5A next year. If the War Eagles ain’t going up against the Point City next December then I think they at least make a deep run because things on the whole will be more watered down.
-
They should just make it like the spot foul like the Saints had yesterday on the pass interference penalty. Place the ball where the infraction occurred, and if the infraction occurred in the endzone, then place the ball at the one foot yard line.
-
Interesting line of thought there and I agree wholeheartedly, but I'm not so sure he would want to leave Germantown after one season though.
-
Hopefully the expansion will negate some of the opt-outs, transfer portal madness, and two-hand touch powderpuff football games.
-
If they don't do something the college football postseason is going to be like the now defunct pro bowl to a greater or lesser extent.

Sounds like you need a Coastal Region, a Pine Belt Region, and an Inland Coastal Region.
-
Isn’t that the Florence coach?
-
They did try to hire Dodd one time, but could you imagine Gulfport running the Calvin Triplett offense? That’s as spread as it gets at Gulfport.
-
Would you consider Picayune Coast, Tung Belt, or Pine Belt? I have a feeling we are neither Coast or Pine Belt LOL, even though we'll be in Region 4-6A which is the coastal region.

The reality is this is high school football and not every school has the means to keep a grass football field in pristine condition. I realize grass is the better playing surface, but when turf is the better option for a school and community you go that route. If every high school in the State of Mississippi could have the Scott Field experience every Friday night when they play, then I don’t think you would see any turf fields, but apparently that’s not the reality. Yes I do think grass is better, but I’m certainly not a turf hater when it’s better than what was there before.
-
Well yeah if the grass field is in pristine condition, but what if it isn’t?
-
Relax…the turf at Picayune is not a hazard or a danger. The grass field that we used to have was dangerous because you needed a topographical map for it.
-
If Picayune had to go back to grass, they would have to put that goofy looking crown back in the middle of the field, there would be no painted end zones, yard line markers or the Tidesman logo at the 50 yard line. There would be bald spots on the crown and sand poured in random holes on the field. Grass ain’t for everybody.

He just don’t know when to quit. It’s like beating a resurrected dead horse.

Yeah that kind of the 🛏 for me LOL!

Has college football turned in to professional sports? Sure sounds like it.

More truth by the great Merlin .

Merlin speaketh the truth even if this might be hard to believe.

C’mon Rebel Bert. This has nothing to do with Amory. It was a joke in regards to “read between the lines” LOL!

Since this is the postseason thread I have a question to ask. What made RaRa want to enter the portal? Did something happen internally?
-
I understand where you are coming from and I should have reworded my post differently, but Starkville became the best 6A team during the playoffs. The teams that were the best during the regular season were Tupelo and Ocean Springs and that’s what I meant with my post because they couldn’t finish on top.
