Update on west jones injured qb. Was said broken collarbone last Sunday but Monday a orthopedic Dr looked and said dislocation not broken.

I will go a step farther. District 3 at this point will not get a team into the South State. Laurel, if they manage to suddenly put things together, has the overall talent to make a run to get there. But only if they finished 3rd in the division and could avoid Picayune till South State. Hattiesburg offense just isn't good enough in my mind. Wayne County is............just weird and I can't trust them. WJ is way too injured. And I absolutely LOATHE Laurel. So I don't even want to see them in the playoffs. The only consolation for me this for this season at this point is hoping they do not make the playoffs.

I am counting on Hattiesburg beating Laurel. Although Laurel has the ability to beat Hattiesburg, they have played all of 1 good game all year and that was against West (while still barely winning mostly due to West injuries). Laurel to be honest just doesn't seem well coached right now. So I don't think they could beat a fired up Hattiesburg (who I really don't think is all that good either and wont make it past the 2nd round of the playoffs). West will get beat by Wayne County. Regardless. WJ will not win another game regardless of who they play at this point.

QB is a senior. LB I think is a senior but I may be wrong. The RB is a sophmore. The WR is 8th grader. We also have 3 o line banged up but should be playing as well as a corner and safety. We will likely have a jr corner moving to QB, or throw in the 9th grader that moved up a couple weeks ago. Our number 2 QB pre-season was hurt and out for the year in mop up duty I think during South Jones game. I have never seen WJ have this many injured all at once. And to all of the skill positions at that.

West jones will hear beat by Wayne county then go on road to end season getting beat by whoever is number 2 from other district. WJ starting Rb hurt vs laurel with season ending injury. WJ top WR hurt vs Laurel early did not play vs Hattiesburg, might be back next week. There was a starting LB that left hurt with what looked like a broke arm. No updates on him. Update: Broken wrist. Starting QB hurt early vs Hattiesburg did not re-enter game. WJ offense was worthless once he was out. Just found out he has broken collarbone so he’s done.

Going to have whole new coaching staff.

West played a 9th grade qb for 3 quarters. He was moved up to the team after jr high season ended a couple weeks ago. Something going on around the Hattiesburg locker room after game. Some fans trying to fight a coach is rumor.

West is done. They will be 1 and done in playoffs. Best Wr hurt early against Laurel missed this game might be back for Wayne County. One of 2 RB that mostly split carry duties hurt vs Laurel it’s season ending. Multiple others out this game that may be back next week. Starting QB hurt early this game looks to be sprained shoulder on throwing arm. He’s out the game. Maybe next week. May even miss playoffs. Starting LB just hurt actually looks to be broken arm. And all this after best returning player tore ACL in summer camp and missed the season.

And now west qb is hurt on the bench with shirt off.

West is in trouble. Injuries and last weeks loss took wind out of sails. West will be 1 and done in playoffs.

West Jones has been hit with the injury bug and will be without multiple starters. Including best rb and wr.

Picayune at 1 and no one else even matters at this point. They may be 14 points at minimum better than the rest of 5A

Florence is all but Eliminated from playoffs now. They lost to Wayne county and west jones. right now if either one doesn’t win again they would tie with florence and both have tie breaker. Their only hope now is that Hattiesburg and Wayne beat laurel and I don’t see Wayne county doing so at this point.

West jones played like ass. From the get go laurel took the field amped. WJ went through the motions. WJ turned the ball over 6 times. 1 a pick-6, 2 others were in Wj territory. The last was in the endzone to end the game when laurel db out jumped a Wj receiver. Laurel had 0 turnovers. This was the 3rd time I have seen Laurel this year and it was the first time their o line (with its 2 future d1 players) actually blocked anyone. Wests qb was scrambling as soon as he got the ball regardless if there was pressure or not. Threw everything on the run. Laurel flat out out-played WJ. They wanted it more. And WJ gave it to them.

Jones County having too many schools?? No way. West Jones is bursting at the seams. South Jones not all that far behind them. It’s more likely they would tell-do the lines to send kids out of those two to Northeast Jones to equalize the numbers than ever consolidate them.

Petal, is Petal. That is to say that it does not matter if they are in 5A , 6A, or 7A. They will struggle way more often than not. Back when there were still only 5 classes they spent a few years in 4A region 5 with west jones, Laurel and Wayne county. And they crushed more often than not. if Marcus Boyles couldn’t win state the years he was there I would not put much faith in anyone else doing it.

physically big on d line. But not so muscular. Seem slow. Rest of defense looks small but that’s because the line is big. Most of what I saw of them in 2 games they do not tackle well. Mostly ram tackle. Rarely will 1 guy bring down someone alone. They at times appear to have no clue what play they are running. Safety is a ball hawk. offense, huge o line. 2 guys that can block anyone. The rest not so much. The qb wants to run first. Rarely sets feet when he throws. Most of the passes are thrown in a direction while hoping a wr makes a play on it. Wr’s are fast with some height. Rb is tough. They seem to get most success running behind those 2 big o linemen. But they tend to want to run around the ends more than what they can do the best which is run between tackles.

I would love nothing more than to see Laurel miss the playoffs. WJ @ Laurel this week then hosts both Hattiesburg and Wayne county.

Laurel I feel like has yet tobpkaybtobyheor ability. Last year they looked very so-so till the west jones game then they got hit through to south state. They gave the ability yo do it again. The question is, will they? if WJ lays the wood to them in a couple weeks (and Wj players and coaches have the one circled multiple times after last years playoff loss) they are done. They will lsu down the last couple games.

West jones has florence, Laurel, Hattiesburg, Wayne county in that order. I think only laurel is an away game.
