I am puzzled over Jan’s’ coaching yesterday regarding our subs. It did not seem like that Jones, Murphy, Bell or even Moore had very many minutes. During our win streak it was the depth of this team that made a great difference. Yesterday he totally went away from that. Or so it seemed. Especially with game going in to Overtime. I know our starters had to be exhausted at the end.

I didn’t see any of the game, so I looked at the box score. You were right!   Murphy had 2 minutes.  He was giving State some good play recently.  There has to be something with that   Bell only had 4 also.  Jones had 14, but he had been playing well also.  Judging by the score, it’s not because any of them were a defensive liability.

He does tweet out seed list updates regularly without updating the full thing this was from last night after State‘s loss

That’s practically the same position, just down 2 spots I believe.   
LSU is a must win.  Lose to TN and they’ll be sweating out if they get bumped to a play in game or out completely.  It will all be based on what other teams do.

Absolutely LSU is a must win. If we win that one and play competitively with TN, we will probably sneak in.

MSU men has work to do to get into the NCAAT. 

Ole Miss men has work to do to get into the NIT.

Lunardi says State is in with a win versus LSU.

 

Ole Miss is guaranteed an NIT bid if either State or A&M makes the NCAAT. New rules this year where the top two NETs not in the NCAAT regardless of record in power conferences get auto bids to the NIT. Only way OM may not make the NIT is if both State and A&M fall to the NIT, and even then I bet OM gets an NIT at large.

It's a step in the right direction overall for OM, but after the start it's only natural for us to feel deflated. That performance Saturday, though, was putrid.

I don’t like to use the “q” word but that team seemed like they were done with this season. From 5-3 to 7-11 (and the only two wins were vs 0-18 Mizzou) is a pretty drastic fall from grace.

Greetings and welcome to Bubble Thursday,. Must win for State today, I just have a hard time thinking they make it with an 0-5 finish. Also basically every other bubble team plays today too so a lot of scoreboard watching, potentially.

NCAAT on the line, and LSU is running State out of the building.  Sloppy start for State.  LSU has 11 turnovers and still up by 9.

I probably jinxed it with my “I would be shocked if this team collapsed” post a few weeks ago but holy cow they’ve done just that. Embarrassing showing by this offense. It feels like the other four guys on the floor are just waiting for Hubbard to bail them out, and uh oh he’s not red hot so far so everybody else looks like they’ve never seen a basketball before.

Hubbard has a big second half and State gets the win. Should be in the Dance now. But get a chance against Tennessee tomorrow to either remove any small remaining doubt or play for seeding.

Huge second half for State. I think we are in now especially if we are competitive with TN. Now if we beat the Volunteers we will move up the seed line.

A&M beats Ole Miss in the SECT to end any very slight hopes OM would get an NCAAT bid. A&M is in the conversation for an NCAAT bid while I'm not sure OM is in the conversation for an NIT bid. Either way, Ole Miss improved this year vs last year so I have zero complaints. 

 

MSU is almost a lock for an NCAAT bid, unless a bunch of upsets happen through the weekend to "steal" bids... MSU will be in the NCAAT with a loss to UT tomorrow. Beat UT tomorrow and MSU is wondering what seed and not an IF, that's a great place to be. Kudos.

Holy crap. Still one half to go and Tennessee has scorers but could not have scripted that first half any better for State. Just bullying Tennessee on defense and in the paint right now.
