Bulldogs4
Owls are shell shocked. Can they recover with three outs left? If they do not, then they are liable to lose to Army tomorrow. A game like this will completely destroy your psyche.
rebmus
LSU won 14-11. Pretty good game to follow, even though I'd rather LSU have lost.
Dawg83
I stopped keeping up with it and just saw that LSU won. Man. Really interesting day for the SEC tomorrow with a bunch of big games. LSU/USM, Arkansas/Oklahoma State, Florida/Oklahoma, Auburn/Florida State, among several others.
Bulldogs4
LSU won but they used 4 pitchers last night. Their pitching was already shaky but they are similar to State. They are able pull out a rabbit from under their sleeve at any point in time (as they did last night). MIA is still getting rain. Will they get to play at this weekend? I know they will have to start tomorrow if it is going to happen.
Dub312
Regional has to be completed by Tuesday. If not, then the host team advances.
Bulldogs4
Looks like the rain may finally be exiting the MIA area. Hope they have a good drainage system there. I think they will get to play ball later today.
MSTSatchmo
It looks like having a great hitting team is the key this year.

I think it’s more that there’s an absence of great pitching this year. That’s a big part of why Tennessee has been so dominant. They can really hit and also have premier pitching. Now they could certainly go cold one weekend and have their season ruined, but outside of UT this has been what college baseball has been all year. MSTSatchmo
Miami is looking shaky. Auburn is looking really good.
Bulldogs4
LSU pulls another rabbit out. Down 6-2 in the ninth inning. Tied it up and then win in extra innings. Tough loss for USM. Now they have to win three games in two days. Difficult but not impossible but it is difficult to overcome blowing a 4 run lead in the last inning. Dawg83
That’s a brutal loss for USM. Got a great starting pitching performance and just had a total bullpen collapse. Arizona up 4-2 on OM after 6. OM would need four straight wins to survive if they lose here. I made the comment yesterday about the SEC not doing great kinda prematurely. No SEC team has been eliminated to this point and 5 are in the catbird seat (we’ll see what happens with OM).

Dawg83
If the winners bracket teams finish off their Regionals you could have some unusual pairings for Supers. Texas State/UConn is the big one. Arkansas/VCU is a possibility. Oklahoma/Virginia Tech are both really good but weren’t on anyone’s radar at all going into the year, and looking like one will be in Omaha. We’ll see how Hattiesburg and Coral Gables finish up.
MSTSatchmo
If OM gets the win today, I see them in the CWS. Bianco would be safe another year.
MSTSatchmo
Through the first four games at the UNC regional, there have been 24 home runs hit.

Looking like it will be Miami’s ace versus Derek Diamond. Not surprised at all that OM won last night but I would probably give Miami the edge today. We’ll see how it plays out though. I do think if OM survives this weekend they have a legitimate shot to get to Omaha. The issue is that first you will probably need two road wins against a Top 5ish team that won the ACC. MSTSatchmo
OM wins 2-1 in one of the few impressive pitching performances of any regional. Clutch hitting in the 6th to take the lead. I don’t know what kind of pitching the teams have in the losers bracket, but OM can hit with any of them if all the teams run out of arms. OM is in a good spot. Dawg83
Wow. All the football scores this weekend and Ole Miss wins 2-1 against Miami. Extremely well pitched game from both teams, Miami made one mistake pitch to Elko that was the difference. OM has had issues finishing off series at times this year so curious to see what happens tomorrow. For Miami, I haven’t really watched them play this year and I’m sure they didn’t win the ACC on accident, but they’ve hardly been impressive in two days. Struggled with Canisius and then looked really poor offensively today. Maybe Ole Miss is what State was in 2018 or Virginia was last year, talented team that lost more than they should have in the regular season but finally put it together at the right time. Dawg83
Also, USM walked off Kennesaw earlier to set up the rematch with LSU. I think Southern has the pitching depth to make this interesting but they’ll have to hit better than they have for most of the weekend. Bulldogs4
Tremendous win by Ole Miss. against MIA today. Elko with the big hit. Obviously I am a State guy but I am an Elko fan. The guy is a gamer and someone you would want on your team. Agree with 83 that USM, while they still have a tough hill to climb, are more than capable of doing so. LSU has been gritty but they also are a flawed ball club and tonight’s game is no gimme at all for them.
Dawg83
Saw a stat that the SEC West is 10-0 through the first two rounds of the tournament and all five West teams are in the catbird seat of their Regional. Pretty crazy.

Pretty crazy. Yep. All five SEC West teams are 2-0 currently in their regionals. Tennessee is also 2-0. Florida is still alive with 1 loss. They're tied with Oklahoma 2-2 in the 7th currently. IF they win, they'll advance IF they beat Oklahoma again tomorrow. Georgia is the only SEC team eliminated so far. They did pick up a win in the regional, so zero SEC teams went 0-2 this year in a regional. That's a strong showing by the conference so far. I'm impressed with the play of OM the past 2 days, especially today. For OM to have any real chance to win a regional, they pretty much HAD to win the first 2. Diamond is typically pretty good 1 time though the lineup, then he's typically hit hard. An early exit from the SEC tourney turned out to be a blessing since it allowed rest for arms. I expect to see the bullpen in the 4th inning tomorrow, if not the 3rd inning.
