@VottI think Calpreps has Hattiesburg too low, wouldn’t you think?  I kinda think they have us too high LOL!  I mean I’ll take it, but I want to see us earn our way to that point.  Like last year, we literally have to hit the ground running.  Warm up games are off the table.

I am not concerned a bit of where HHS is located in a preseason poll on July 2. In saying that I do think by looking at all classes 1a-7a that some of those rankings need to be rearranged. The one poll that I would agree with the most is the 4a poll

I could see Hattiesburg being 5th to start in 6A. Cant really justify them being ahead of the rest of those teams yet. I know they have some D1 talent but they need to win a few. Including not losing to Petal week 1

all in all, I think these rankings are pretty solid, until some actual games are played.

The poll has pretty much all the defending champions as # 1 I believe in 7a 5a 3a and 1a there will be new state champions West Jones and Charleston have good chances to repeat and Louisville is pretty much a lock to win 4a. Also in 2a no way  Mize and Clarkdale should be ahead of Scott Central.

The only question for OG is the sophomore QB. They’re loaded everywhere else and getting AJ Lewis was huge for the offense. I’m curious to see how WJ retools a very tough defense from last year probably the best in their history. I’ll be shocked if West Point doesn’t repeat. There’s no competition in 5a

I don't know I think Mize will be pretty solid I can't speak for Clarkdale. I know Scott Central will have another head coach change but still got talent. Who is the head man Clarkdale now???

West Jones offense is stacked. And will have only 3 or 4 seniors (a wr maybe 2 depending on how it shakes out, one of the rb’s, and 1 or 2 o line) leave after this coming year.  The defense however will have 10 new starters (with 3 or less seniors likely). So if anyone in 6A wants to beat them, better do it this year.

Scott central should be way higher than they are. They were a young squad last season. Heidelberg was also young, and should be the 2A south favorite. Mize and Raleigh played in the spring and looked pretty similar. I think Heidelberg and Scott central are the top 2 in the south for now. Loyd star I think was also pretty young last season, or at least they had a good young running back. Interested to see how bay springs does without Brady there. They are moving out of the wing-t and going to the spread. Their fan base was very unappreciative of Brady and what he did for that program.

Nah they wasn't unappreciated if that's what u heard .Then he clearly should stop himself from thinking like that because that's coming with any job. I love Brady I was one that said he was the best coach to ever coming through Bay Springs by number wise. He has more wins then any other coaches that ever coach there. 

 

I hear all kind of crazy saying that he throws that game with Heidelberg for 10,000 clearly that was fabrication. And yes understood he had to rebuild his defense lines for that Heidelberg game . But your defense only gave up 20 points when clearly your offense was in the red zone 3 times more and you didn't punch it in. No have some dignity and just say I was became predictable and out coach that night. 

 

Do I think Bay Springs will be any good this year maybe or maybe not we have to see. I know during the spring offense has to potential to be real good but , defensive Bay Springs should be ok.

 

One thing for show they won't be predictable on offense so that's a plus.

Brady was pressured to leave and it started before last season.  There’s reasons why he was said to be at west jones so much before Pierson retired there and it was strongly thought Brady would be the hire once Pierson did retire. Hell I was hoping he would be who west went with. 
 

Speaking of Pierson. Who do you think Bay Springs learned the spread from?  You say nap springs won’t be predictable. I’m telling you you are wrong.

I don't know about that force stuff Brady is great Coach by far . Well people on here had stated that Brandy want to leave Bay Springs that year in 2016 after that great run he had 2015-16 season. 

 

 

I personally don't think that West Jones wouldn't been a good fit for him mainly because of his offense scheme of things. But if he would got the coaching job when Pierson retire. It would been great hire for West Jones. 

 

And to touch on Bay Springs run the spread this year they be ok. This isn't Bay Springs first time running that . The year before Coach Brady came was running the zone read spread and did it well. I think set the record on point score with Coach Milner that year before Brady came. But defense should be pretty good this year .

Even the seasons they won back to back titles, their fans complained about the offense. They weren’t satisfied with being a championship caliber team, they wanted to see the ball in the air. And it wasn’t like BS wasn’t scoring a ton of points in the wing, because they were. Their fans were just spoiled and unappreciative. They will get what they asked for the next few years. BS will still be good because they have two stud backs. They will still be a run first team, even in the spread. Pierce is a good athlete, but he’s not a pure QB. They are going to have to run the ball to be at their best, and that’s what they mostly will do. They have a pretty good JV as well, so the next couple years look good for BS. I like Scott central in that district this year though.

Not true at all the offense was ok even though it predictable. The thing was your not going be able to run at everybody some night u have to throw ball. 

 

Last year at the fall game when Enterprise beat them. And yes I it's was a fall game. But I was on visitor side right behind The head coach of Raleigh and his defensive coordinator call out every play Daniel Brady was fin to run . It sickening to hear Raleigh defense coordinator say "oh Dan is predictable" they hurt me to my core.

 

Then with Heidelberg game one of defense coordinator used to play for Bay Springs . He said that night of Bay Springs play them is I was there. He said "if we meet back up with Dan again I'm not lose to him". 

 

And far as Dan leaving Bay Springs he said he "wanted spend more time and be able coach his son" and that's fine with me. But last time I checked them fan don't pay his salary is West Jasper School district.

 

And Bay Springs will be fine with or without Daniel life still keep moving on.

Funny how Bay Springs wasn’t able to throw the ball all those years they were in the spread, and never came close to sniffing a championship. It’s hilarious how fans think these teams can all of a sudden just develop a passing game after never having one. The reason Bay Springs has been successful in the wing-t is the same reason Raleigh and Bassfield was successful in the wing-t. They don’t have the athletes to spread the field and throw the ball all over the field. If they did, they would throw it. A team needs not only a good QB to run the spread, but you also need at least TWO good wide receivers. And very few small schools have that combination of all 3. Brady comes in and takes them to 3 championships and won 2 of them. They averaged 33 points per game their first championship season and 44 points per game their 2nd season. Name me another season where Bay Springs averaged that? Every defensive coordinator knows what to expect when facing a wing-t offense. Why would it surprise you that another coach could predict what they were going to run? Thats the beauty of the wing-t. Teams know what’s coming but it’s still difficult to defend. And if you think bay springs is going to throw the ball any better next season compared to last season, you are gonna be disappointed. Bay Springs will still be a running team even from the spread. And if try to throw the ball just as much as they run it, they won’t win many ballgames.

You was one who said Bay Springs probably won't be as good when they won their first championship. I was one who said they be fine. Then you found they even better the following year. I screen shot that when u said that but I lost in my other phone. So I'm let pass on that good day sir
