PigskinPrognosticator
Should get a nice list of candidates. Top notch facilities and talent galore.
Ghost of Howard Cosell
Bilderback was making $102,500 this past season at Columbia. Great facility and field with athletes in Columbia.. Sounds like Missy (Chip’s Wife) is making ULM (Head Women’s basketball coach ) a permanent home for awhile. The Catholic leagues in Louisiana are usually the best overall in that state. Pull-A-Roy
It’s a top 10 job in the state . Regardless of classification .
HammerDown74
Because of it being May and every coach has probably signed a contract for next year, I'd imagine someone is getting promoted.

Yeah, it is really late in the process for sure but for that type of money and program there will be some interest.
doyouevencoachbro
If they don't promote from within I will be shocked.
maroontide06
Columbia doesn't need to reinvent the wheel. Whatever it is they've been doing there has worked really well so far. They've just got to keep the train moving forward and keep their coal car full. Whatever it is they do needs to be plug and play so that there's no disruptions to anything (RE: West Point). TigersFan
Yeah but sometimes people forget where they came from. They where not a top program before Chip took that job and had success. They may now feel like they need to go out and hire the next big and best thing!
Gulfcoastdevil75
Big $ job. Superintendent has been around for a while. He will at least open the door.
longhorn75
A big money yet big expectations job. I’m curious to see with Joey Hawkins at Columbia Academy, now and him bringing in a truly all star coaching staff, where Columbia goes. This has to be a slam dunk hire for them bc Hawkins is now in town.
ManCoverage
Any local coaches at successful smaller schools or any of the big school coordinators that have been successful going to be in the running for this job?
Oleballcoach
It will be a big hire in my opinion. Someone who has been a college coach, likely usm or msu ties that is a defensive minded coach..Bilderback has alot of friends in the southern miss circle as well as the state. He will make sure they are left in good hands. I am not sure how he stayed this last year with his wife and kids living that far away. That is tough.

Part of me believes though, that with him waiting until now to do this, maybe it was strategic so that they give it to one of the current staff members with the timing? This just does not seems like a situation that has popped up in the last month or anything.
PigskinPrognosticator
His wife was holding out for the USM job but McNelis did not step down. Missy signed her new contract with ULM last week. She had all intentions of coming back to be the coach at USM but the AD doesn’t want the heat of forcing McNelis out.
Chunky6617
If I’m making the decision on hiring the new coach, I’m hiring their defensive coordinator Bo Russum, if he wanted the job. No brainer to me.
coachfball87
Heard Teddy Dyess put in for the job.

During the game the coordinators will call the plays unless there is something special the head coach wants run on a particular play. In theory that is how it works, in actuality a lot of head coaches call plays on offense or defense. I know for a fact that Bilderback called the defense
