Dawg83
Winner take all game on Monday night. A&M had a chance to finish it off today but lost it in the last couple of innings.
David44
It was good to see the final 3 teams all SEC, assuring another natty, but still can't seem to find much joy if Tennessee finishes it off. Maybe it's just me now looking to hard for it, but Vitello keeps sending bad vibes and middle fingers with his attitude. And it bleeds over into his team. The 4th inning last night, Moore walks on a 3 0 curve ball, and then has to stare down the pitcher, for not throwing a ball in the zone. Come on man. He may be the best player at Omaha this year, and certainly MLB ready, but no sense in that at all. Edited June 24, 2024 by David44
rebmus
Texas fired their baseball coach, the coaches in tonight's final are likely 1 and 2 on their list. I think Ole Miss is safe from Bianco getting hired away right now.**
maroontide06
Well does the outcome of this game mean Vitello to Texas?
Bulldogs4
Too little too late for Aggie. Tennessee limped to the finish line.

Bulldogs4
Don’t see either V or S going to Texas. But it will be interesting to see who they do hire. They certainly don’t want to fall in the trap of firing a good coach only to replace him with someone worse. Some schools have made an art out of that in the recent years. Dawg83
Schloss to Texas is confirmed. Wow. Now the A&M opening is a significant one too.
Bulldogs4
Interesting move on his part. Timing is about as bad as it gets. But in the current state of college sports there is unrestricted movement each year for players and coaches. So in that respect no one should be surprised that he jumped ship. At what point do fans and alumni stop giving money to the athletic departments? I can see it happening sooner rather than later. If there is no loyalty from players and coaches why should the fans have any loyalty? There are plenty of other entertainment options for people in the current day. MSTSatchmo
I think some fans believe they have more control now than ever before. They think they can help decide what coach or player they get by giving more money. Did Schloss really say, when he was hired at A&M, that he left his family for them? Surely not. Lol. I saw a meme that had that on it.

MSUBulldog
Mississippi State set to compete in 2025 Astros Foundation College Classic in Houston (msn.com) Miss St. along with 2024 SEC CWS participants Texas A&M and Tennessee are slated to compete in Minute Maid Park in Houston which will mark the first time since the 2018 season that MSU has done so. The three SEC schools will be opposite Rice, Oklahoma State and Arizona and will play Round Robin action over the course of three days. State takes on Rice on Friday, Feb. 28 at 11:05 a.m., Arizona at 3:05 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, and against Oklahoma State at 2:05 p.m. on Sunday, March 2. The Bulldogs also played at Minute Maid in 2018 when State competed in the Shriner’s College Classic and beat Louisiana, Houston and Sam Houston State. The Bulldogs have also played in Classics over the years in Frisco and Arlington. Rice is a proud program out of Texas but has fallen on hard times. The Owls have 18 conference titles, seven College World Series appearances and a National Championship, but the program has had six-straight losing seasons with a 21-37 finish last year in year two under Jose Cruz Jr. Arizona will begin its first season in the Big 12 this season. This past year, the Wildcats managed to win the Pac-12 regular season and conference tournament title in its final season. Chip Hale has had the Wildcats in the NCAA Regionals in all three of his seasons since replacing Jay Johnson as head coach. For OSU, Josh Holiday has build one of the most consistent Big 12 programs. Since taking over in 2013, Holiday has had the Cowboys in the Regionals every season with three tournament championships, two regular season conference titles and a CWS appearance. Tennessee and A&M come into their season next year with some mixed thoughts. Both teams had strong seasons finish in the CWS championship with UT winning its first national championship in school history. The next day, Aggie head coach Jim Schlossnagle left for rival Texas and A&M promoted hitting coach Michael Earley. The Bulldogs head into the season with a lot of question marks of their own. State is losing two weekend starting pitchers in Khal Stephen and Jurrangelo Cijntje and most of the starting lineup is on the move as well. After the Bulldogs’ poor non-conference schedule in 2024, this neutral site classic should give State a nice boost early on in the season and get the team prepared for another tough SEC slate.
