OK as a State guy I was ready to be so mad about that game but objectively it was an excellent game with fantastic pitching. One pitch literally the difference.

 

I still think State needs to keep winning to host. A&M tomorrow night would be a big win if you can get it.

 

For Ole Miss, is this the end for Bianco? I honestly don’t know. If so, what a run it was.

Holy cow!!

Great pitching by both squads. 
Just a really great game that somebody had to win and/or lose. 
Huge win for State and yes we need to win tomorrow night. Will be there interesting to see A&M’s motivation. They are lock for a National seed so this Tournament does not really help them any. But when you play a game , you still want to win. 
We will see what happens.

If State wins tonight, I wouldn’t say they are a lock to host but I think you’d feel good about their chances. LSU making a run this week so far has also helped State’s resume.

LSU REALLY helped their bid chances by smoking Kentucky 11-0 today. 

 

South Carolina helped their chances also by beating Arkansas.

Vandy beat UT 13-4. 

All 3 lower seeds have won so far today. Is that a sign MSU beats A&M tonight?

My suspicion is that win clinches a host spot for State. But I’d love to keep winning and improve seeding as much as possible. Probably like your chances tomorrow too with I presume Jurrangelo on the mound. After that, whatever happens happens:

I think if State were to win tonight, they'd definitely lock up a host spot.  State already has 20 conference wins, so that stat alone should hold some weight to it.

Well as I mentioned earlier, if they look at those early losses as classroom work and not test scores, we should be in good shape. A win tonight I think we solidify a host spot.

Vandy beat State in the late game last night. Got interesting late but Vandy led pretty much the whole game. State has really been slumping at the plate lately. Jordan and Hines simultaneously falling off the face of the earth is a problem that for sure has to get corrected in the next 7 days.

Beam pitching well. I watched him in Hattiesburg SR last year, he was good then too. But my gosh that team is still so cocky. They are so easy to root against. As i type MS ties it up, and the Vols try to start a fight. Right on cue.

Well I think we will be a Two seed. Just a bit short the last two nights.

And yes Tennessee is easy to dislike. They are about the only SEC team that I will pull against all the time. In a Regional, SR or in Omaha.

Plus their gray and orange uniforms are easily the ugliest baseball uniforms in the country.

Oh yeah those bright orange helmets and hats are terrible. Their old look with the black hats and orange lettering and bills was much better.

I honestly have no idea if State hosts or not. I think they are right on the borderline. If you made me call it today, I’d say no. But I don’t think that’s a given. Would be great if one of these mid major host contenders slipped up before Sunday.

I think we are a two seed and if we get sent to Indiana State, I am perfectly good with that.

Playing on the road may actually be better for this  particular team. Less pressure. Let’s just go out and play ball. 
And for Hines & Jordan being away from home may be the best for those two guys. 
Forget about the last week and just relax and play baseball. 
In any case, while I am in Destin next weekend and the following week, I will be able to keep up with the Diamond Dawgs!

State has gotten some help in other conference tourneys this week so they may yet host. East Carolina and indiana State losing specifically opens the door potentially.

 

Could really use a Duke loss in the ACC title game as they are also in the host mix.

Yeah I think there’s a good chance Duke hosts now. That may leave State out, or maybe State would get in too.

Not surprised State didn’t host, I am surprised at who got picked over them though. ECU and Arizona are peculiar choices. Was expecting Duke and Indiana State.
