That's where he started last year. State seems to have enough pieces to cover weekend starting pitching. If Dohm is put where he's needed, then I would think they'd use him to shore up the back end of the bullpen. Oh, no doubt after getting swept by Kentucky in Oxford. Memphis is raking Ole Miss tonight also. Ole Miss WAS leading 3-2 and gave up TWO runs on a bunt in the 4th inning, I'm not sure I've ever seen two runs on a bunt. 9-4 Memphis in the 7th now. IF this and next year end without postseason, he's toast. There are tons of Ole Miss fans/boosters with MUCH more money than me that may donate to get rid of Bianco after this year if there's no postseason, we'll see. More $$$ is certainly available in Football and Basketball today and in future. Ideally, we could hopefully do both. Keep investing in baseball and bumping up our football and basketball investments. Very true, it's not even close. Women's softball gets close to the same coverage as baseball during the college world series. (I think that's great BTW). Compare Baseball CWS national championship viewership vs a NCAA basketball NC and then a NCAA football NC. The numbers are crazy different. Ole Miss has dropped the first two in Fayetteville. I don’t think you can make too much of this specific series as Arkansas is maybe the best team in the country right now. The fact that we had two quick outs in the bottom of the 8th and then put together the four run inning to effectively to seal the win was huge. While we have been abysmal in one run games, I have liked how this team can have six or seven zero innings and then put together one big inning to win a game. That is the sign of good team. Dawg83 Posted April 6, 2024 Author Share Posted April 6, 2024 It is wild to see Kentucky sitting at 9-1 while LSU, Ole Miss, and Auburn have 8 losses apiece. Some of that is a product of the schedule so far and it will likely level off some, but still. UK is three games ahead of everyone in the East. I personally believe Arkansas and A&M are the two best teams in the league this year and probably two of the higher seeds in the NCAAT. None of the Georgia players that had hoodies on were ejected since they were not identifiable. What a joke. Several of State’s players were being peacemakers and were ejected as a result. Long was in the wrong and should have been ejected on the spot and play should have resumed immediately. It was an emotional play and we got the out. No need for extra curricular especially when we had the momentum going into the bottom of the eighth. 83, I agree that was a total disgrace and whoever is responsible in BHM should be fired and not allowed to monitor baseball games anymore. Lemonis even said they should have declared a double forfeit and ended the game right then since so many players came off the bench and were a part of it. Which the incident never became a fight. Absolutely totally pathetic. The umpires on the field handled it fine. But HQ botched it worse than I can ever remember. We will be playing with our JV squad today.
