That would make 6a South consist of Terry West jones Hattiesburg Forest Hill Jim Hill and South Jones in Region 3 and Region 4 would be Hancock George Co Goula  PRC Picayune and Long Beach.  Pretty much Hattiesburg West Jones Picayune Pascagoula and then the leftovers in 6a South.

Pearl is located just north of I-20 & i believe they will be south because Jim Hill is North of Hwy 80 in west Jackson.

I certainly considered Region 5  as Enterprise,  Heidelberg,  Bay Springs,  Mize. Region 6 as Philadelphia, Newton, Scott Central, Pelahatchie,  Puckett. Also Wesson to Region 5.

40 schools in 2A and 5 per region. You can switch Kemper and Philadelphia.

One time item on the agenda for next board meeting.

1 year reclassification to line up with Alabama/Louisiana for scheduling.

Currently we are lined up with Arkansas/Tennessee.

What would this mean if it gets changed?

The way he said it in his(director) pod cast today a 1 year reclassification  to line up with Alabama and Louisiana schools. That would throw the northern schools out of wacky with Tennessee and Arkansas.  I don't know how schools play Arkansas schools. Some do play Tennessee schools. Reclassification in 2026 for 2027 then reclassification in 2027 for 2028 if I am understanding it. They already voted down last year keeping the same classes as we have now for 2027.

Kemper County school is south of 16 and Philadelphia school is north of 16 so that switch makes since.

Hearing that they are going to combine Leake Central and Leake County together. Don't know when but heard from someone who works for the school district that it is going to happen.

That should make them a 5A school

Council meeting Thursday to vote on 1 year reclassification lining up with Alabama and Louisiana or stick to 2 year reclassification staying lined up with Arkansas and Tennessee. Seems like all 5 states need have a meeting with intentions to line up as one.

Not sure I like the idea of a 1 year reclassification

I don't either but I guess non of us really knows how the proposal reads. What i know came from the directors podcast. And I don't know any school that has played an Arkansas school in quite sometime. Now I do wonder if they are just going to extend the current reclassification for 1 year and then count the numbers in October 2027.
