As long as Hattiesburg and West Jones remain in the same 6a region, this game will be the biggest one on the schedule for both teams every year since it will pretty much determine the region champion every year. George Co might have a shot every now and then, Terry is fools gold and Jim Hill and Forest Hill are not worth mentioning

I’m not going into details.  Reynolds has some demons to work through. Things happened that were being kept on the low since his tenure started.  It was likely a mistake for west to hire him in the first place especially knowing how things went with his divorce from south jones and the bridges burned there. 

 

Pierson retiring after the ‘22 season also likely, maybe, probably, had some to do with his wife’s medical treatment he couldn’t focus on the program.  But his return now is almost for sure to “mend the fences” that were torn down by pure arrogance and refusal to listen to any all input from anyone else. Winning a title in a first season with a team that could have won being coached by a gerbil is not enough to crown one a God

Also, who’s to say that there may not already be someone tabbed as the next coach that could come in and learn the community and earn back the trust that’s been lost, that may not come in as an assistant and stick with the program a few years before taking over.

I'm just curious if they will rotate PRC and George County every two years if everything else remains the same.  Even if they do, it would still be between Hattiesburg and West Jones for the most part.

Most of the staff, except for the OC and the TE/assistant o-line coach, were from Pierson’s prior tenure.  The OC had also been on person’s staff at a different time before going to petal.  Reynolds kept them.  So I imagine most all will stick around.

If Meridian drops they or Terry may move to Region 3 or 2.

Murrah or Meridian will likely drop to 6A throwing Hattiesburg to Region 4. Greenville or Long Beach to 5A. Sumrall to 4A. This all hinges on no ties or 25 teams in a class. Forrest Hill or Meridian will replace Greenville and Hattiesburg will replace Long Beach.

George co could go back to Region 4.  They were in Region 3 this past season

No, Murrah and Meridian was tied at 25th so both played in 7A

My research says both Murrah and Meridian may drop to 6A and South Panola goes to 7A. The numbers will be within 10 students so who knows. There will be a trickle down from each class if no ties exist. Then North Tippah goes to 2A and 2 schools may drop to 1A. Faulkner and Walnut are consolidating last i heard beginning fall of 27.

Watching the Mississippi/Alabama all star game. They announced Lance Pogue from West Jones? Did they make a mistake or is he on the staff?

both Pogue and Reynolds are coaching in this game today. So either announcer got it wrong or you heard it wrong.

Mississippi-Alabama All Star has about ran its coarse!  Nobody cares! Meaningless game!

Then you are not a competitor. That game is to showcase the top high school athletes of both states and a chance for them to compete with and against each other.

Staff was chosen before Pogue stepped down. I think if you step down you should be replaced. I also think once the head coach and or assistant you don't go back gor an extended period of time.

His question is about Pogue being announced as West Jones not about why he was part of the all star staff.

According the roster Laurel coach was the head coach. All assistants were listed with population and high school except Pogue. He was the Defensive Coordinator and linebackers coach. I have a feeling there could have some coaching philosophy that didn't mesh before Saturday like doing it the Laurel way, etc, etc.
