Ok. They held EC to 7 and EC is struggling big time for some reason. They gave up 28 to Greene County. If that is vastly improved then so be it. The competition heats up in the future.

Ok man. Have you watched them? Have you seen the skill players at Greene? Greene has two D1 WRs and a really good offensive scheme. Pascagoula held EC to 7 as well but we're not heaping on them. Anyway, they're improved. It shows. This helps both sides. You get your QB back and another starting safety back and they're both big time athletes. Obviously the jury is still out but the eye test definitely says they're better on defense and they run the ball better offensively than a year ago.

East Central just does not have great athletes this year. They are going to play hard but they are not as good up front on the offensive line as they have been. Probably be a year or two before we see them get back to the level of competing they have the last 6-7 years.

Ehhhh. It is still Picayune, big gap, then everyone else in my opinion. Just another team to join the lottery of who is going to lose to Picayune Thanksgiving week. LOL.

Then we might as well not discuss 6A south at all.

I do think it will take a dynamic QB such as Knight to actually keep up with or beat Picayune though. No one else has a player like him.

We all know when that weather drops start of November anything can happen.

Dub, that's why I made the topic.  It was definitely some pertinent information and who knows what will happen?  It'll definitely shake some things up now.

Yes that's correct. Anything can happen, but the weather down here in Picayune isn't as adverse as it is in Oxford.  I was out mowing my grass on Dec. 31st. back in 2021 and I never thought I'd have to do that.

I already told you y’all better be here in Oxford come championship week. Information better be exchanged if it happens and a face to face occur.

I’m wondering what happened in Tennessee? They were all hell bent to cherry pick players what happened to send them home? There’s a fox in the hen house somewhere.

That’s my exact thought. All this YADA YADA YADA and I have the same question.  Why did they leave?

Perhaps the stars did not align !

I was told there is  A LOT more to this story than we know. I was told neither player had planned to return but were forced to return due to some behind the scenes work from George County. Obviously could be he said/she said and completely false. That is just what my source up near Benndale told me.

It is a similar situation in 7A south to me. There is you guys in Oak Grove, a nice gap and then everyone else. That does not mean you guys cannot be beaten, it just means in my opinion unless you guys drop the ball so to speak, nobody should beat you because you have great players and coaches mixed with lots of big game experience. Just because I do not see it the way you do, does not mean we cannot have a discussion.

If that’s true it sounds like they have opened the door for locker room problems. I know you have more sources down there than I do but I don’t see how they could be forced back to GC. I’m guessing their families had moved as well. They made a choice one they thought would better their children. It was an academy heck even if the parents didn’t move they may have dorms. Rather we as fans like it and I Don’t but with NIL deals we’re going to see more of this.

Can anyone find the rule about this? I've looked and unless I'm overlooking it, I can't find one about a player having to sit in this situation. The caveat is always being a MEMBER school and Lipscomb is not a member of MHSAA. Not sure if there's a precedence for this.

I always come back to this one: 2.24.1 Students of member schools who attended non-member Mississippi private schools during the preceding school session may return to their home school without loss of residence eligibility.

Anyway, I don't know.

When a player transfers in from out of state, they are required to go through a "two week acclimatization period" no matter how many games they may have played previously for their other team. They are technically "eligible" they just have to sit through these next two weeks to acclimatize.

You are correct about the rule.  Also, Coast is correct as well.  They must go through the 14 day acclimatization period.
