George County Getting Players Back!

I am sure that Coach Ray and the other coaches can handle the situation. The young man that took over the QB duties was a starter at another skill position. He did an outstanding job. I am sure his talents will still be used to help the team. Does anyone know the situation with the Velma Jackson player tht went to Hartfield for two weeks? Did he sit out any games when he went back to Velma? This was last year.

Different association, different rules

Don’t worry, they’ll be back in plenty of time with some stats under their belt by the time they play us in Lucedale on Oct. 27th.

This is how it will pan out. MHSAA rule him ineligible. GC takes it to court where a judge rules him eligible to play. GC opponents file a protest. The entire situation is then taken to court and the class 6a playoffs are put on hold until the court case is over. LOL

The rule in the MHSAA Handbook states that a player may not play the same sport for two different "Member Schools" in the same year.  Lipscomb Academy is not a "Member School".  Both will likely have to sit 14 days to meet the "Acclimatization Rule" requirement.  But, I'm real glad that I'm not in James Ray's shoes.  There's a lot of variables and factors that play into this moving forward.

Starting QB is probably happy because he's a WR and would probably rather play WR.

I thought the same. I just wonder how the locker room will adjust. I am sure there are some not so great feelings from some of the players. Like another poster said, I am glad I am not James Ray and having to manage this situation.

Ehhhh. It is still Picayune, big gap, then everyone else in my opinion. Just another team to join the lottery of who is going to lose to Picayune Thanksgiving week. LOL.

Dang.  Just got me wanting some turkey.  Might have to throw down and go get the Turkey Leg at Sho-Nuff LOL!

Vastly improved on defense. Mostly sophomores a year ago. Now, a year of experience under their belt.

Ok. They held EC to 7 and EC is struggling big time for some reason. They gave up 28 to Greene County. If that is vastly improved then so be it. The competition heats up in the future.
