Especially if rainy weather does come in that weekend and it is at Ole Miss or MSU. come on, vott. Grass is not required football equipment. it is entirely optional. only gravity is required. after that some dirt (wet or dry, whatever you can get) is helpful but grass is just not necessary. trees and boulders should be avoided at all cost.

Also, flopping on the field isn't a requirement either LOL! No pun intended there Vott!
Merlin
Pretty sure MHSAA and Usm reached an agreement to have the games at Usm the next 3-4 years.
wpgreenwave51
Well I'm tired of making that drive to Hattiesburg every year. We need another location. I'd love for it to be back at State

In all seriousness, I think it is cool for the kids to get a chance to play in DWS or VHS, but I hate how empty the stadium looks for those games. USM in my opinion is the best fit for everyone involved. I think Robinson-Hale in Clinton would be nice.

And thats also the same weekend that JSU could possibly host the SWAC title game if it was considered being played there. No JUCO campuses are big enough to host. Alcorn State capacity is about 22,000. But Lorman doesnt have enough hotel rooms for visiting teams and fans to stay.
Rebel Bert
Clinton, Pearl, Madison, Brandon, Meridian, Jones, USM, MGM Park, Trustmark Park, Tupelo but probably not for all venues 6A/7A.

No way you host at Trustmark or MGM. Those ballparks host 6,000 or less. And you will not play at high schools. If i was on staff at say Brandon, I sure as heck would not want to be working on a weekend. The MHSAA would definitely be wanting some assistance for concessions stands security among other things
Dubaction
I really wish y’all would stop suggesting playing state championship games at high school stadiums…. It’s the state frikin championship.
ccbulldog
USM is obviously the best choice in the State 1) stadium is perfect size, not too big or small, excellent site lines as stands as close to the field and pitched pretty steep. 2) Turf is perfect for any bad weather. 3) Plenty of Hotels and restaurants near the stadium. 4) Hattiesburg is between to the two largest population centers in the State, Jackson & the Coast with excellent highways in all directions. 5) and the pine belt area around Hattiesburg is an absolute hot bed of High School football. Rebel Bert
Maybe we need a USM type stadium but in Grenada or Jackson Metro area. Home team will just work the concessions.
Chunky6617
We need a better place to play around Jackson. Jackson is centrally located.

True, but everybody hates playing there. And I dont see JSU getting a new stadium anytime soon.
