Though I believe and want Bramlett to get it, I just think that he has a lot of odds stacked against him. The names that have been thrown out there are championship caliber coaches and experienced.  His lack of experience is going to be that sore thumb moment in the the interview. I believe he has done a great job keeping the ship together in this transition but he has an upward hill to climb. Good luck to him though.

With 2 months in they still feel like they need to do 3 more rounds of interviews and a hire should be made in time for summer workouts! In all seriousness just hire Bramlett at this point they've drug it out so long.

I agree on Bramlette. With the AD and superintendent both in flux, I’m thinking that the board just wants to do due diligence, but there’s a quality head coach already in the building. The program doesn’t miss a beat, and the talent coming back could actually be in good shape for another run in the playoffs. He ran the offense, and the defense should be better, so let him be in place for spring training.

At this point, if it is not Bramlett, then they are wasting a lot of time and energy. Something is off about this situation. I understand doing your due diligence, but there is no excuse for a hire to not be made at this point in time.

I think most of the people close to this program agree with that take, unless there’s some splash candidate that the school board is considering. Either way, delaying the decision isn’t helpful. The talent coming back next season is there, it just requires a strong leader to keep things heading in the right direction. Of course, I’m not on the inside making the choice.

They may have offered it and both turned down? Not sure. Causey has a really full cupboard of talent coming back so I would shocked if he left having 7-8 D1 guys with experience back on his team.

I'm shocked that none of these schools have made a run at Oak Grove's DC. He's got hall of fame football coaching in his blood and OG has had nothing, but success since he arrived.

Word on the street is he's holding out for a different coast job, probably waiting for Harrison central to open up. Tons of talent in there, just need someone to get them pointed in the right direction.

There's a definite ceiling at Harrison Central and Cain bumped his head against it several times.  And North Gulfport isn't exactly Shangri-La either.
