  1. I totally agree there. That move wouldn't make any sense at all. He's doing good things at Stone and they are getting brand new facilities. I'm sure he wants to be part of that.
  2. In hindsight they probably should have got a quick 2, but they gambled by not fouling Alabama on their last possession. That gamble would have paid off if State would have been able to drain a 3. It just looked like they didn’t have the right play drawn up.
  3. State didn’t foul at the end of the game. It got to like 19 seconds and State had the ball but couldn’t get an open 3 to tie the game and the clock ran out.
  4. Yes I’m right there with you on that foul call on McNair. That was a clean block and it’s a shame the officiating is the way that it is, but it’s hard to win a game playing against two opponents. I know there’s no such a thing as a moral victory, but I’m proud of State’s effort tonight. I just hope Jans can find some reincarnated Winsome Fraziers and Ravern Johnsons. Another Mario Austin and Lawrence Roberts won’t hurt either.
  5. If State could have cut down on the fouls and mustered up a little bit more offense, they would have won this game.
  6. State might be running out of steam in this one, but the effort is certainly there.
  7. These officials are trying to steal this game and give it to Alabama.
  8. Is Kermit so bad now that he's making Andy Kennedy look good? Was Andy Kennedy the Jeff Bower of Ole Miss Basketball?
  9. Well I think that will be ok if he doesn't come back. We are going to have enough depth at RB and we've got to make room for some TE's. There's already going to be some attrition once the portal opens back up since we are over the 85 scholarship limit. I think if he wanted to come back they would make room for him, but maybe they advised him to go another route.
  10. Is there any news on what Dillon Johnson is going to do? I'm curious if anyone has heard or read anything.
  11. Mahomes is supposed to have a high ankle sprain. If that's the case we've seen how he does when he's hurt. If it's not bothering him, then it will probably be a toss up like you said. I really don't have a clue on the NFC side, but I can see where the 49ers would have the hot hand though. It's all going to depend on which Eagles team shows up.
  12. I think the main question in regards to the AFC is, "Will Joe Burrow take advantage of an injured Patrick Mahomes?" If they can do that then look out because they may win it all.
  13. That's par for the course for the Cowboys. Would you really expect something different? I think they won last week on accident.
  14. It appears State had a good portal day today. Picked up Vanderbilt’s starting QB in Mike Wright and also Freddie Roberson, a WR from Eastern Washington. It’ll be interesting to see what happens next.
  15. Since he’s a father now, maybe he realized a move like that wouldn’t be in the best interest of his family. I hope he can get things settled about where he wants to play football this season. I think he would do well if he came back to State and he would definitely have the chance to thrive more.
  16. It appears Arnett got his 2023 coaching staff finalized and I’m glad they are keeping Coach Washington on staff even though it’s an off-the-field role. I never would have guessed that they would move Tony to running backs, but he’s been a football coach for so long and if there’s anyone you can trust it’s Tony Hughes. He knows football and has a brilliant football mind, so I think things will be just fine there. It’ll be interesting to see the tight end thing unfold and who will be starting in that position come September.
  17. Here's another that may not show up on the radar and that is Warren Central-Clinton.
  18. Well I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Poplarville vs. Picayune is a better rivalry than the other county team that we have to play. It's too bad that game has been put on hiatus for possibly the next two years. I figured you would have found a spot for Laurel-Meridian because that one is pretty toxic as well.
  19. It's actually called Watkins Stadium at Blair Field and was Mississippi's first lighted football stadium.
  20. That definitely seems odd, but at least they get them at home and won't have to go to Watkins Field. Who knows what that field will be like come November. I think it's a very favorable schedule for Wayne County so hopefully they can capitalize off of it.
  21. Great points here. The question that you have to ask yourself is, "Who do I want to represent South Mississippi in the 5A State Championship and who will give us the best shot of keeping the 5A crown in South Mississippi?" Once you have clarity on that answer then things should start to line up accordingly. I realize there will be some unexpected twists and turns, but if things aren't lined up for Wayne County this year to do something special then when will they be?
  22. If you would have told me it was a laundromat in Omaha I would have believed you LOL! I could at least load up on pocket lint at a laundromat.
  23. I just hope the baby looks like a gold football on top of a wooden pedestal.
