That's the million dollar question LOL! I'm not in the loop so I honestly don't have an idea why, but it's now an open date that we can now fill with Oak Grove since they've got an open date that week as well. I would also figure that PRC is also foregoing the game we were scheduled to play in Carriere next year as well, so we would obviously need to return the favor and play at Oak Grove next year.

@DubactionPicayune now needs another home game on September 29th since PRC backed out of that date. Can you get that lined up?

That was definitely a tough loss last night for State. They actually rallied for once instead of getting shellacked. It's crazy how that Tennessee batter has walked it off for Tennessee for two consecutive "Friday" nights, even though last night's game was on Thursday. You hate to say it, but if KC Hunt could have not thrown that pitch center cut over the plate there's no telling if State could have had a chance to complete a rally in the top of the 10th. It was just refreshing to see that kind of effort when Cade didn't have his best night starting off.

PRCC's second game last night was suspended against Jones with a score at 5-5 going into the 8th. Surely they won't resume two innings of play later on will they?

The only fool proof way that State gets into the NCAA Tournament is to win the SEC Tournament. That's a near impossible task there.

This may be a dumb question, but why didn’t State go to Nixon sooner? I mean he could have went out there to start the 9th and you probably wouldn’t have allowed Auburn to put up a 7 spot. I think that’s poor coaching there.

Well if State is going to win 2 of 3 this weekend, they’ll need to do it tomorrow and Sunday. Great pitching today from Cade Smith, but no offensive production to compliment the great pitching.

Any thoughts in regards to baseball this weekend? Hopefully State can win another series and possibly get a sweep. If they can do that, then the hole will be less deep to climb out of.

State should be well rested and will have the full arsenal of pitchers available for the weekend against Auburn since tomorrow's game against Southern is cancelled because Southern has to make up a conference game that got postponed on Saturday.

I don't know exactly what this means at this point, but State is #24 in the RPI. If State can keep the RPI up and keep the momentum with the wins who knows what will happen, but it will be hard to keep them out of the post season.
