Agreed in the last 2-3 minutes of the game Lanier broke runs of 99 and 40 yards pretty much right up the middle. Lanier’s defense looked pretty good in the second half after giving up 22 in the first half

Maybe try doing it with the players they have. But again that would not be Petal/Boyles tactics. Again congrats on Petal for finally getting over the hump and beating OG for the first time since 2019. Let’s see if they can do it when it matters.

No, you assumed that and associated that all by yourself. When you bring alcohol to a party, the chance of violence increases. When you mix weed and alcohol together, it increases even more. The fact a school allowed that on campus, is really mind blowing to be honest. Sounds like you are wanting to defend the party, and I don’t think that’s good. By all means go throw a party on private property somewhere and smoke and drink all you want. But not at a school.

Lafayette has played and beaten two 7A schools this year (Hernando & Lewisburg). I think this move is a bit of an overreaction, but what really doesn't make sense is making it be an all sport issue. Lafayette Baseball went 2-1 against Oxford last year, right?

Williams is a senior and obviously has behavior, respect issues his 2 year career at Tupelo will span roughly 28 games and he will have been ineligible for all but 5 or 6 of them. You seem to think you are smarter than Ty Hardin who runs the Tupelo program and is at practice and knows what gives his team the best chance on offense. Tupelo has a quality D as do several of their opponents and the backup can't cut in live practice so why do you feel he is better option? This has cost Tupelo nothing other than a motivational tool for coach Hardin. This wasn't a region game and WP is better on D than anyone left on Tupelo schedule. You might not be as up on the psychological aspects of coaching 7A football. I'd stick to your team with the RB that runs a 4.8- 40.

Schools have policies against alcohol and drugs. Its obvious that u can't stop a fan from drinking. You can denigh him or her entrance if you smell it or they dog drunk. Sometimes you assume the person shooting may have been impaired himself. As a parent you wouldn't want to be around it under normal circumstances. Some of us are simply not raised around it nor do we partake. But if u walk down the sidewalk going to the stands then u just make a judgement call. Enjoy the game and leave most likely afterwards.

I wasn't bothered by the South Jones loss. They are a good 5-A playoff team this year. You could see the improvement Harrington was making starting last year. The Petal loss, well that's another story. The defense was going to be a work in process from the get go, and I expected them to improve over the year, but they have lost some key dudes to injury. Even withstanding the Petal performance, the WJ offense is good enough to make it to South State, but the defense could get them beat in the 1st round just as easily. And we can grade our coach on how well this team rebounds Friday night @ George County.

Union will be the best team they have played so far, IMO.

Clarkdale / Union maybe a good game this week. Someone will take their 1st loss.

Biloxi really messed up with French. He was doing as well as one could do there and you see where that has gotten them. I really think French was trying to fill the hole in, but now they are back to excavating.

Not sure honestly. LOL. High school football is a fickle thing. Common opponents in most cases is never a good barometer. Look at our game vs you guys. You’d think with y’all beating Gulfport, and us taking care of you, that we should have been fine tonight. Nope, got it put to us. It can be a good thing taking a loss like that. Hats off to Ole Miss, missed a lot of it but seems like they had a great defensive effort and were clutch enough on offense to seal it. Heartbreaking loss for State. They were one or two plays away from an unreal win. Spent every ounce of gas in the tank on that one. Just didn’t have enough left in the last 5 minutes in OT to beat a playoff contender. This State loss felt so much like State-LSU 2009. In so many ways. I think there is a lot to be hopeful for, but no doubt this was a tough L to take.

Battle of the Waves! With Tupelo basically running almost the same offense that West Point is running with a few wrinkles and possibly the two best defenses in the state, this is going to be a good one.

This one reminds me of the Texas/USC Rose Bowl National Championship where all the talk leading up to it was is that USC team the greatest college team of all time and Texas put a stop to it. All offseason and even til last night the talk was is this Tupelo team the best MS high school team of all time. Appears West Point put a stop to it.

Enterprise is still big and fast South Jones will beat most 2A teams when get some starters back and get some experience Enterprise will be force to reckon with in class 2A.

I was talking to a buddy of mine the other day about it. They have had a ton of pretty tough injuries I have heard (including season ending ones to the starting and backup quarterback) so I imagine that is playing a role. On the other hand. Smith in is in what, year five, and they are still not competing at a level that is capable? His recruiting and signing classes have been suspect for the most part. They have had one winning season and have not made the playoffs once? He has had enough time to really make some headway. I think it is time for them to move on.

Add and circle Taylorsville at North Forrest. Taylorsville is dying to gain any sort of positive after a rough first 4 games. North Forrest is far from a push over though, and they’re looking to gain confidence as well going into district play. Another game to watch is Noxapater and Eupora. I’m also curious to see if Salem can get back on the right track after getting dominated by Stringer.

Congrats to Ocean Springs and their beautiful OL. I didn’t expect the high scoring affair that this game brought, but I knew Picayune would have to play a near perfect game to beat Ocean Springs beforehand. When Picayune fumbled at the 1 and Ocean Springs threw the 99 yard Touchdown pass the very next play, that was the proverbial nail in the coffin. Picayune played good, just not good enough to beat Ocean Springs.

Well. One of us got embarrassed tonight but it wasn’t Oak Grove thankfully.
