One of the best games you’ll see all year. Heartbreaker for State. Just couldn’t get stops in the second half, Kentucky scored 56 after the break.

UNBELIEVABLE head to head battle between Hubbard and Sheppard. Just haymaker after haymaker.

This one ranks right up there with some of the other Kentucky daggers against State, Just a tough tough loss.

Yeah, State is still playing good basketball. Would like to see them win another couple of games and solidify their seeding a little bit more. At Auburn will be really tough but I’m not totally conceding that one, I mean State did beat them once. And then I think you’re just a better team than A&M and I believe you should beat SC on your home court.

After reflecting on the game for a day, I have concluded that State did not lose the game. KY won the game.
Yes, you can nick pick a few plays to say we should or should have not done this or that.

It was a great game. I enjoyed it immensely. I am disappointed but in no way disappointed with our team.

State scored 14 points in 50 seconds. Sheppard and Hubbard were unbelievable.

Hopefully we do not let KY beat us twice. Now obviously, the trip to Auburn is going to be very difficult to win. But we are capable so we will see what happens.

Two big SEC bubble games tonight with Ole Miss hosting Bama and A&M hosting South Carolina. Feels like must win games for both OM and A&M.

Auburn at Tennessee should be fun too. Maybe it will go to five overtimes and Auburn will have nothing in the tank for State on Saturday. Lol.

Ole Miss played Bama tough but couldn’t keep them at bay. 64 points in the second half. Mercy.

A&M also lost at home. These two teams play each other still and both are now 6-9. Doesn’t seem to be a path where both can make the tourney, and it could be neither. Would take a heck of a finish from either side to get in now. As in win 4-5 more game or outright win the SEC tourney.

The next time we have games it will officially be March. Easily one of the most fun months on the sports calendar.

State and Auburn both coming off high profile losses going into Saturday. I’m probably one of the few that thinks State may actually have a chance in this one, but also entirely possibly Auburn rolls at home. If State were to pull off the upset, I think it raises their ceiling to a 5 or 6 seed if they were to keep winning. With a loss, I think you’re gonna be living in that 7-8-9 range barring a crazy turn of events during conference tourney week (either good or bad).

Lunardi still has OM in the next four out so they’re not technically dead but it’s hanging on by a thread. I don’t think an explanation is needed for why you need to beat 0-15 Missouri.

Tennessee at Bama on Saturday night probably decides the SEC regular season crown.

Unless there is a complete meltdown, MSU is making the NCAAT.

Unless Ole Miss wins(regular season) out/OR makes a deep run in the SECT... they're not making the NCAAT.

Yes on State.

OM needs more than just winning out in the regular season. I think it’s win out + two SECT wins or have to win the SECT.

Lady Rebs take care of business in Lexington. Leaving Rupp with a 30 pt win and locked up 3rd in the SEC. Kentucky is not a good team but again finally starting to see this team put inferior opponents away and some of these seniors show out. Now 21-7 on the year and 11-4 in sec play. Finish at home on Sunday against Arkansas.

The train has derailed in Starkville. Lady Dawgs lose their 5th straight in conference play this time to Auburn. Drop to 20-10 overall and 7-8 in SEC play. Not sure what has happened. State was flying high a month ago 7-3 in SEC play coming off wins over Ole Miss and LSU. I would guess they are right around the cut line after tonight’s loss. Finish with Mizzou in Starkville and this is a must win game. Can’t afford another bad lose on the resume and Mizzou is currently last in the SEC. And 7-9 in conference is just not gonna look good to the committee especially with the conference not getting much respect nationally outside of South Carolina and LSU. Also they are in danger of missing the bye for the SEC tournament and that’s really gonna make it tough to score any resume building wins in the conference tourney.

Something must be going on internally with State's women's basketball program because how do you look good in the early part of the season and then let the wheels fall off like they have?  These aren't great teams that they have been losing to either.

I think Purcell is just an OK coach. I hesitate to say that about someone who won two NCAA tourney games last year. Seems like a pretty good recruiter. But yeah, just have never been blown away by the guy. His teams don’t really capture much interest from me.

Auburn handled State. Played out kinda how most probably expected. State should still be fine from a tourney perspective, but need to beat at least one of A&M and SC to avoid some potential unease.

From the start, State looked like they were going through the motions and never came close to matching the intensity of Auburn on offense or defense.

Tough building to win in. Auburn is 14-1 at home with all 14 wins by double digits.

And ironically their one loss was also by double digits, to Kentucky.

Ole Miss survived another near disaster against Mizzou. OM is excellent at almost losing to terrible teams but still winning. Lol.

SEC tourney seeding still very much up in the air. State and OM will both finish somewhere in the 7 to 10 range but where is anyone’s guess. Could mean we get Eggsketball Round 3 in Nashville next Thursday.

A&M is a weird team. They are certainly capable of winning against State especially at home. But this is a game State needs to win.

After playing well for six straight games, State was due for an off night and Auburn is so good at home as well. Hopefully we have gotten our bad game out of our system and will play well enough this week to go 2-0.
We will see.

Ole Miss with a much needed win (though they about let it slip away). This week presents two winnable games and can get Ole Miss back in the conversation if they can win both of them. @Georgia and A&M are certainly good opportunities for victories.
