If they were in Region 3 I'm not sure they wouldn't win that region also. This may be the year region 4 makes some noise in postseason Not that I think they’re better… but it won’t surprise me if Ocean Springs beats OG at south state if it came to that. We’ve got some real holes in our team I don’t like.
Dubaction
OG is gonna get exposed by Pearl and/or Brandon so bad the next 2 weeks it ain’t even funny. We really are above average. If I have to be honest
Bulldogs4
Dub, I would agree with you. While we are improving here at Meridian, we are still not a very good team and we have some holes as well. But OG does not seem to be at the level they have been in recent years. COVID has affected everybody and the quality of play has definitely suffered and may take a few years for it to get back to a better level. Nonetheless, you guys are still the favorites until someone beats you.
Dubaction
We’re definitely not as good as last year. Not even close. Honestly got beat by the one team that matched us in talent. I expect a rough next few weeks. I keep thinking it’ll get cleaned up but ultimately either you got it or ya don’t. We’re about to go into halftime tied 21-21 with Terry. We ain’t got it. ogwarriorbandman
We give up more big plays than any team in the state with the style of defense we play. I don’t really see the benefit in doing that other than we get the ball back quicker LOL. And that makes no sense… Our DBs have been disappointing this year to say the lease with such high expectations coming into the season. OL with adjustments has improved but our key offensive weapons have not shown any consistency at all. One play they are bad ass the next they look like JV ass. I see our cup this year hall full but that’s much better than most teams.

ccbulldog
I guess you could say Meridian controls its own destiny as it still has to play both Petal and W.C.
mout25
I still think OG is the team to beat in 6A South. I saw OG go toe-to-toe with the #1 team in the state. OS is impressive, but they haven’t had as tough a schedule as OG. They went to OT with a Clinton team that has a couple of losses.
mout25
It’s going to be a wild 3 weeks for seeding in Region 3. WC upsetting Pearl threw a monkey wrench into the playoff mix. Terry might be able to play spoiler as well.
Baller82
OG is 19-1 since 2019 So why are we complaining about this team??? Edited October 17, 2021 by Baller82

No doubt O.G. is still the team until they get knocked off, though they did lose a home game to some little 3A private school from the delta. Ha. Ocean Springs could be in their league if they can get that far into the playoffs. They were tested by what I still consider a good Clinton team in the season opener, but they have improved substantially game over game ever since. That offense has not been stopped by anyone, and might have room to improve even more as their defense has been playing better as well. Two critical games to end the season in Gulfport and Hcentral. I’m certainly not ignoring past playoff history, especially against O.G., so I’m not putting them at #1 until they prove they can run with the big dogs. But, get your popcorn, the Greyhounds sure are fun to watch.

If you think Greenville Christian is your typical 3a private school you need to get out the house more and watch someone other than ocean springs and the rest of those coast schools. I actually do keep up with a lot of teams statewide, watching for recruits, top coaches, and upcoming young players. I watch Ocean Springs and a lot of Coast teams, and the quality is pretty good. I know that winning a ring is what it it’s all about, but playing rivalry games, getting kids scholarships, and bragging a little is okay, even if we don’t always make a lot of noise in the playoffs. Besides, we’ve never lost to a tiny private Christian school with 15 players that I can remember.
Dubaction
Oak Groves last 3 games against Ocean Springs 42-7 31-20 42-14 David, do you really wanna do this? I was giving all respect to your team, and I’m not going to start trash talking now. If you’re a little sensitive to somebody obviously kidding about your losing to a little private school, I can’t help you. I gave a little scouting report on the Greyhounds, but never said that they were better than anybody at this point. So according to you, we might as well just be happy winning a few games down here and just end our season at that point cause y’all won in the past. Hell, I’m the one who first mentioned our sorry playoff record. If you don’t mind, we’ll go ahead and play out the season, try to win our region, and if it’s all right with you, we’ll show up for our arse whupping cause we could use the gate money. Thanks for letting us play sir.

Thanks for letting us play sir. Hard to compliment someone who won't take the compliment. Chalk it up to a miscommunication at this point. D'Iberville has beaten OG the last two meetings, 3 and 4 years ago or so. Obviously they will be favored against OG if they meet in the playoffs based on their past meetings. Also they've never lost to a "little 3A private school" in the history of the program. #somepeopledontgetsarcasm. In actual news, I think OG, Brandon, Pearl, Merdian vs OS, Gulfport, D'Iberville, Harrison Central will be the matchups for this year. Region 4 with a chance in all of those games based on what I've seen on NFHS but I know Region 3 is favored to take it all again. Or should I say OG is favored. Good luck! Hopefully Region 4 can make a little noise and my Warriors can keep it on track a couple more weeks. Still some great district games to go down here on the coast to decide seeding! Dubaction
I understand sarcasm just fine. Since you decided to joke about who you haven’t lost to, I decided to joke about who you have lost to. I can understand why that’s less amusing.
Archer
Having seen all the 6A coast contenders, OS is the only team capable of wining multiple playoff games. Harrison Central and Gulfport will be fodder for whichever team they match-up with -- neither team is worth a damn in the context of truly competitive football. I like Gulfport's JR QB (he's a gamer) and they have athletes as always but they are marginally coached as is Harrison Central. D'Iberville is too one dimensional and their defense is average this year. They're certainly coached better than most teams on the coast though and have maintained their physicality through the recent coaching changes. I'm not demeaning them because they've been the most consistently competitive program in coast 6A for years now but they've played two good teams, beating Picayune (a team which mirrors them) and being pummeled by the other. Pascagoula ran the ball well against that defense but their own incompetence in the red zone stymied drives. The key for OS will be the first playoff game and adjusting to the physicality and athletic nature of the other region although they will have an advantage this year in having earlier played a 6A team from that area with those attributes. IMO, they can match any team in the state offensively but can their defense get two or three stops over the course of a game? Special teams wise, they will almost certainly have an advantage with Edmiston kicking.
