Hate that the Brandon seniors are having to go through this for sure. Should be interesting end of the season but I’d guess Brandon will give OG everything they want tonight. Region 4 is watching closely to see how it all falls out but there’s plenty of work to do for Region 3 and 4 before playoffs should be on their minds. Looks like top 4 teams in Region 3 are closer than usual. Petal losing to OS, and beating GPT OG and Brandon means nothing other than we should have some good playoff games coming soon! Just in time for cooler temps! Best time of year! Good luck to all!

Picayune is going to be just fine going forward I’m sure! Tough game and I agree, never thought there would be that many points scored in this one. Honestly thought Ocean Springs run defense was their strength but we all know Picayune will make everyone look weak in that area! Plenty of good for both teams and also plenty of things on film for coaches to use for coaching points this week! Good luck to the Tide going forward!

I feel like this forum has adult conversations about football without all of the negative talk about opponents and coaches. There is some but mostly solid guys just talking sports. Need more of it but sadly many people go to the sites where there’s too much crap and not enough substance. It’s a good thing in my opinion.

I actually see OS as the underdog with a sophomore QB and undersized but scrappy defense against what is always a large and physical Picayune offensive line. A close game should make both teams feel good either way. A win is great but even a close loss in this one could be looked at as a good wake up call going into district play. Coaches and players probably want the win regardless.

Should be a good game! OS defense will need their best game so far this season and I’m sure their offense as well. The Tide ground and pound will test the best of defenses! Wish OS had their big DE for this one but they’re 3-0 with others stepping up, so hopefully he’ll be ready for district! Wouldn’t be surprised either way but these OS seniors have figured out ways to win in some big games since 7th grade. I’ll go with OS 21-20.
-
I’d take Picayune by a few TD’s but Biloxi is improved. I don’t see their defense being able to handle the Tide ground and pound but not many teams can.
-
Should be an another good non district test for both teams! Who ya got? I lean toward OS 28-14 but should be a tough game.

Most schools on the coast barely show up with fans at away games just across the bridge, much less a student section. I’m sure the people in charge will be looking into it. Back to football.

Sounds like administration is aware of what you’re speaking of and will address it. Definitely not condoned but sounds like kids being kids to me. Definitely not something I would create a topic on in a sports forum, but that’s just me. I know that there are worse things kids could be doing on a Friday night other than supporting their school and singing, a bad word in a song.
-
I know for a fact OS admins are on top of the student section continuously and do not tolerate ANY negative cheers or chants. Maybe they slid something by them. Feel free to make a call to the school if it was offensive.

Glad to see OS get the win. Hopefully Meridian can start to put things back together soon. I was born in Meridian and I know High School football is better when they are relevant. Keep grinding! Good luck the rest of the season!

Football season is here!!! Haven’t heard much about this game this week! Who’s coming out of Ray Stadium with a W? We’ve got 2 hrs and 15 min until the 2025-26 football season is officially underway! Let’s go!

I was going to say I think Dville will score more and give up less but that’s why they play the games! Can’t wait!

I’m sure there are Lots of shadiness that goes on no doubt which is why I said do you really want those kind of people willing to do all of that on your team. Maybe they have good reason to leave and can’t afford to move or maybe they’re chasing a trophy or following bad advice. If a kid misses a season for breaking the rules, that’s on the parents and the coach recruiting them. AKA karma.
-
Actually my Alma Mater was the one who beat the team with the kids that switched schools years ago. Not one year but twice and neither game was close, while the other team missed the playoffs both years. Both players went on and did great in college, so sort of a win win. I could say “Why can’t your school be a school where kids want to be rather than jump ship?” People aren’t making kids and parents move, they’re doing that themselves. If it’s for good reason, good for them. If not, In my experience, the good guys always win and karma is undefeated.
-
It doesn’t matter if kids leave due to a team just not being good or because they don’t feel like they’re skills will be shown to help them get to the next level, like an offense being run that is archaic. They may leave due to someone playing their position and they can’t beat them out. At the end of the day, do you really want a player in your locker room and parents in your community that don’t want to be there? No way! It brings nothing but a negative atmosphere to your team. Let em go! Nothing better than beating an ex-coach or a team that has an ex-player that thought the grass was greener. You can either improve your program to make kids want to stay or prove they and their parents chose wrong.

My apologies. After three rough seasons we are definitely in our feelings down here for sure but hopefully things will turn around this season.
-
Yeah, unfortunately I would agree from what I saw but 35-0 in two quarters by varsity at least gives us a little hope.
-
We'll see how it plays out but I think their defense will be strong this year and offense should be improved with Walley and company a year older. I know it was just a spring game but I'm sure Meridian will attest to that. I'm not sure how the small schools got into their rotation. Raleigh is a new opponent for them for sure but they first scheduled JDC several years ago when they knew they were going to have a strong team, so I don't think it's a lack of confidence. maybe a connection with coaches? Gautier aside, because they were in the same district at one time and they've always played them being a neighboring city. However, I still think 3rd or 4th will be where they finish in Region 4 but I hope I'm wrong.
-
I think "Football in MS" guy was trying to take a jab at a coach or team and forgot the Warriors literally made the playoffs last season and played pretty well in a loss against a tough Brandon team. A "bad season" at D'ville is usually still better than a good season for the bottom half of the teams of region 4. D'ville doesn't stay down long and should win the games they're supposed to this season. OS and Gulfport probably the favorites but they just let the haters hate and keep grinding.
-
I'd think Biloxi will be competing with Dville for 3rd or 4th. Don't know much about HC. Warriors dominated Meridian 35-0 in varsity action in the spring but Meridian either left their Varsity at home or they're gonna have a down year. Warriors should be solid regardless.
-
D'Iberville should be 3rd at worst in Region 4 but we shall see.
-
I agree. OS has to play their A-game and probably force some mistakes or turnovers to keep up with the Bulldogs. Happy Thanksgiving and Safe travels to the Brandon fans. Hope it's another great game. Should be a great football atmosphere!
-
I see OG as a common opponent made tons of mistakes, which is apparently their excuse all season, but still only lost to Brandon by 4 points. OS easily beats OG by 4 TD's if not for two bad snaps and a soccer slide tackle by the QB on a potential pick 6. The Hounds, showing more class, go into victory formation to get an easy win. Should be a better game against a good Brandon team. Go Hounds!
-
So you want to take away two touchdown plays? Uh yeah I guess if you start taking away offensive plays by OS, then OG did great! Or you can take away the two bad snaps by OS in their own redzone, the fumble late in the game in the OG redzone and a soccer slide tackle by the OG QB to make the game 41-7 instead. DOMINATION if you watched the game. OS may win or lose but OG's "most talented team" is at home for Thanksgiving and their fans are still too salty to give credit to the "soft coast school". Happy Thanksgiving! We're on to Brandon.
