Matt
Both teams started out with impressive wins last week! I guess we shouldn't be shocked about Laurel's win over Meridian but here we are. St. Stanislaus advertised players coming in from out of the country and out of state as "coming in daily" in an interview on 25 teams in 25 days.....Their offensive and defensive lines were huge but Warriors wore them down to the tune of over 600yds of total offense winning 41-14. This matchup should be a better one for both teams this week. Warriors returning only one starter on both sides of the ball from last season, need good competitive games under their belt before district and looks like they will get it this week against Laurel, next week against JDC then the following week against Picayune. Always love to see the strength of non-district schedule we have to prepare for district! Safe travels to Laurel! Go Warriors!
ogwarriorbandman
Diberville will have their hands full against Laurel. I pick Laurel in this one…

Fairly easy. This game is in D’Iberville right ? Do they still play at the old school ? I gotta be over that way I think and may go watch this game. Except for one of the top 6A schools in the state, Ocean Springs, No one has won "easily" against the warriors in about 3 or 4 years but maybe you're right because I know nothing about Laurel. I'd suggest sitting on home side and bring some money for bags of jerky sold by cheerleaders. Hopefully they give Laurel payback for the bad call in the playoffs back in late 80's......No we haven't forgot! Go Warriors! Tiburon
Laurel is a very good team with the potential to go a long way this year. On paper they should win this. Warriors have what 2 starters returning? But it is early in the year. Don't be surprised if Laurel makes a lot of mistakes in the form of penalties / turnovers and D'Iberville takes this. They will be prepared and and play disciplined football. I could see an upset here.
Bulldogs4
Laurel may have a good team but last week did not really show that. Meridian had 7 turnovers (2 of which were pick sixes) and Laurel scored all their points of those. All credit to Laurel for taking advantage of the opportunities but if D’Iberville plays a clean game they may very well win this game. Will be interesting to see what happens. A good team takes advantages of turnovers. You may have played like crap but that doesn’t mean they didn’t display a certain level of competitiveness in the process. Twice Laurel made the interception when they got the chance and then scored.
Bulldogs4
I am in no way demeaning Laurel. They played well and earned the win. I just stated it is hard to know how good they are based off last Friday. If they have to sustain an 80 yard drive , will they be able to do it? If D’Iberville does not turn the ball over, will Laurel be able sustain long drives. Will their defense get tired if they are on the field a lot? Just some questions that might be answered this week because they were not last Friday. I think a few years ago, Florida had about 500 total yards and Missouri 150 yards but they had 7 turnovers and blocked punt and KR TD and Missouri won the game like 49-17 or some other crazy score. As I mentioned, it will be interesting to see how this game plays out.

Tiburon
it's not reality to come out of the first game of the season and truly think you know what you have. at the end of last year we were nothing like we were at the start of the season. even if you blow someone out in game one...if you are that same team come playoff time you are getting a big L. I wouldn't worry too much about what you saw last week. see if they correct it this week.

One of laurel running backs had over 200 yards rushing and 4 tds, yeah they forced 5 fumbles and had 2 pick 6s but the offense was moving at will against meridian..including the passing game
L-town89
And another thing it was 47-14 when laurel to the starters out in the 3rd plus had 4+ tds called back it could’ve easily been 70 plus points on board
Laurel56
Laurel 42 - D'Iberville 20 Laurel runs wild again behind the big line... Another multiple score game for Mr. Caden... We'll also see more turnovers forced by the Laurel Defense... Week 1 was not a fluke...

L-town89
Great game to Diberville they played great but the refs I can’t shake my head enough let’s just say they kept the game close!! As for Laurel we made too many mistakes tonight especially on special teams and defense…we got to clean it up on the defensive side of the ball, too many try to strip the ball and force fumbles instead of actual tackling we also have to make some adjustments on the backend I’ve never seen laurel dbs get abused like they did tonight!! Other than that it was a good ole shootout

Other than that it was a good ole shootout At least both teams have some film to show what needs work on defense! Not sure which calls you’re referring to…..I was just listening on Dville FB live with no video…..but those refs don’t make tackles and neither defense did that! Definitely had more points scored by both teams than I would’ve guessed! Looks like both offenses will be fine, especially D’Iberville considering we are returning only one starter being the quarterback. That’s two weeks in a row Warriors have faced huge linemen and still put up 6 TDs a game. The size of Laurel’s linemen were discussed often on the live stream! Good luck to Laurel the rest of the way! Tornadoes are gonna be a tough matchup for anyone! Go Warriors!
