ccbulldog
Hallelujah!! When i saw the headline I thought it was due to all the crime recently in that area. But whatever the reason it's a very good thing. USM stadium is great for a high school football game. Just the right size and sight lines are excellent. And area is safe as well.
Chunky6617
This really sucks for the Mississippi youth football association who already was scheduled to have their championship games there that weekend, like we do every year. Kind of got the rug pulled out from under us there…

SCVMC1G
I don't know why they didn't move it to MC. It would have still been centrally located and great facilities.

Old Golfer
Rather have the games anywhere than the Vet! Horrible for the fans and horrible playing surface.
choctawman
MC cannot handle larger schools crowds. 6,000 about their capacity.

Tinamites 5-6 years old, rookies 7-8 years old, midgets 9-10 years old, pee wee 11-12 years old. We play our state championships every year at USM, and have for years now. For them to kick us to the curb this year is disappointing. We are one of, if not the largest, youth football leagues in the south. We have between 40-50 schools in the MYFA. If Petal or OG allowed it then It could, as could also the high school championship games. We had to move the games to Petal 4 years ago after a snow storm pushed the games back a week. I understand why USM is doing it. It just sucks for the kids whose goal is to make it to USM every year. It is what it is.

Tiburon
Usm is a good venue. nice location, safe, plenty of hotels and restaurants, just off a good interstate. other than jackson its probably the only one i would travel to to watch teams other than my own. since it was 1st built i have always thought its a bit steep / vertical for my taste. i guess they didnt have a big enough lot to build on ha
