Virginia is not a bad draw. There is no such thing as an easy Regional. Every team is good. Even the 4 seeds are good. They would not be there other wise. Need to bring our “A” game Friday first. Pitch well, play error free defense and get some timely hitting.
St. John’s is good. Beat Florida back in February so they are capable.
Lets Go Dawgs!!!

After last year, not a bad draw for USM. They have played Tennessee and for about 14 innings were on their way to winning the SR last year. They will not be intimidated. Hopefully they can win the Regional. Tennessee is the only SEC team I can’t stand. I hope they are sitting home after Sunday or Monday.

MS got a good draw, but I think them and USM were screwed. Hard to believe that the way the eagles finished the year to get to 40+ wins, and they were considered as one of the lowest 2 seeds.

And the best conference in the nation gets 5 national seeds, but the 5th place team is not top 16? For the atmosphere you get at Dudy Noble, this was not good for college baseball.

State is indeed throwing Khal Stephen against St. John’s tomorrow night. I think anything else would’ve been overthinking it, too risky to not throw your top guy in a 2 vs 3 game. I think SJ is pretty good, too. Strong pitching numbers and better batting average than State, their one weakness is they don’t hit many homers…. So I’m fully expecting them to hit 3+ tomorrow. Lol.

Well we thought Evansville was a quality team back in March. They just proved it again this afternoon against East Carolina.

As I noted, every team in a regional is capable and there are no easy regionals. Need to bring our A game every time out this weekend.

Well, we kinda forgot about USM’s first game, and maybe USM did too. Indiana waxed them.

State won on a walk off homer by Dakota Jordan. Maybe that can be what ends the slump for him.

USM gets Northern Kentucky in an elimination game tomorrow. State gets Virginia in a winners bracket game.

SEC went 9-2 today. Only losses were Vandy and Bama.

Grand Canyon with the victory over AZ. Not a total surprise. When you win your Conference Tournament often times, the first Regional game is tough because you are flat.
Lot of good games today along with a handful of blowouts. Tomorrow is going to be interesting.

USM with a surprising loss Very much behind the eight ball now.

State with the pivotal game with UVA. Looks to be a great match up. Hope we can find a way to win it.

Go Hoosiers!! Tennessee is the only SEC baseball team that I want to lose.
Some really big match ups today.

LSU-NC ought to be a good one. Though I am afraid LSU is due for a bad game. Just have that gut feeling (hopefully I am wrong).

USM needs to get off the mat. Florida with a solid win. Georgia, UK & Arkansas all gave up a lot of runs even though they won. A bit concerning to say the least. Especially in the first game of a Regional.

State’s formula has been good pitching, defense and some occasional timely hitting. Just need to do the same tonight and see how it turns out.

How about VCU-Evansville in the winners bracket game. How many people predicted that? LOL

Other than threatening weather today, it is setting up for a great day of baseball.

Wake-ECU in an elimination game is equally shocking.

All the games you mentioned should be interesting. Also think Texas vs A&M should be a fantastic atmosphere in College Station and Florida vs Oklahoma State has a chance to be great, too.

USM looked like USM today, not sure who that was yesterday. Don’t know if they have pitching left to win 3 in 2 days, but a really good bounce back performance.

Was not rooting against Vandy however I’m glad to not hear the whistler again until 2025. GO HOOSIERS!

Looked like the plate umpire had a hard-on for ms state

Yes that unfortunately was the turning point in the ballgame.  It was a ball to Mershon clear as day, but State also lacked the timely hitting to overcome the umpire’s abnormal strike zone.

State loses in a game that looked like many of their other losses this year. Blowing a lead late, struggling with runners on base, and then throw in a game losing boot at second base of a would be double play ball.

My gut says State doesn’t have enough pitching left to come all the way through the loser’s bracket. They can win a game, maybe even two games, but three is gonna be really tough. That said, weirder things have happened. But then again if St. John’s sends State home tomorrow that won’t shock me either.
