Vott
The CWS is over and the book is closed on the 2025-2026 college season. Time to talk about what your team will do this season in football. Ole Miss will be really good MS State better than last season and Southern Miss will be almost back to the Will Hall type season. pancho
Can Golding win 7 or how about 8? Lebby might win 4 or 5? USM will hope for 3 wins and call it progress.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they upset one of the powerhouses. 6 wins would be a good year

If they could win all 6 of those, I'd be thrilled.

Dawg83
In all seriousness, I think Kamario Taylor is a great talent that could be a lot of fun if State can keep him standing upright. I’m less confident in State being able to keep him standing upright. I also think State’s schedule is insane. 9 SEC games plus a road game against an 8 win Big 10 team. I think State could win 5 to 7 games. But if you asked me if it’s more likely that they win 8 or that Lebby is fired, would say it’s way more likely that Lebby gets fired. i feel like you will know the drill by Week 4. State is at Minnesota, at South Carolina, Mizzou at home in weeks 2-4. Lebby is toast if he goes 0-3 in that stretch, and he probably needs to be 2-1 in those games considering the next four are Bama-LSU-Oklahoma-Texas all in a row (thanks for that, Birmingham). The only "for sure" wins on the schedule are UL Monroe and Tennessee Tech. I don't think State is favored in any of the 10 remaining SEC/Power 4 games. In order for State to get to 6 regular season wins, they'll need 4 upsets at minimum. If there ever was a prime example of a head coach being in over his head, this is it. DrownInEtown
I think Lebby needs 6 wins to keep his seat cool. Pre season talk is chasing the wind. By week 5 Bama could be a winnable game and Mizzou could look like a force to be reckoned with. 3 SEC wins Is the goal, and a Bowl win just for the record: We got a chance to upset one of those titans (looking at you Bama), it may could secure him another 2 years. If we had Arnett and a 2nd team All-SEC DT last year I think we were a 8 win team. So weren’t as terrible as most people think. Just hope we get atleast half of the improvement we showed 2024 to 2025
rebmus
I'm curious to see how Ole Miss does with (mostly) a new coaching staff... mainly the new OC.
