Last time I checked it was in Harrison County (sandwiched between Pass Christian and Gulfport) and in Region 4-6A. They should still be in Region 4-6A after reclassification I would think. Rebel Bert has them at 669 which puts them behind Picayune at spot 22. I realize that stuff is difficult to interpret. Don't know when but heard from someone who works for the school district that it is going to happen. That has been in the works for years but they haven't followed through. Same colors same mascot. Gets very confusing

Yeah, I get that, he just had region 3-6A as Hattiesburg, WJ, Meridian, Forest Hill, South Jones, and Terry and region 4-6A had George County and St Martin in it replacing Gautier. Long Beach wasn't on either list so that's where my question comes from. Unless I missed another 6A breakdown that included LB.

That also hinges on this week's meeting that will determine a 1 year reclassification or a 2 year reclassification. If its one year and they extend the current 2024 numbers for 1 year then we will see come 2028.

And if Leake is combining, I'd expect them to jump up to 5A and be in that district with Holmes. So Holmes may have had to rearrange its schedule because of it. Yes that is what I am hearing. I believe the plans are to move Leake Couty Jr. High and High School to Leake Central and leave Leake County Elementary alone. Rebel Bert
Leake County School District is also according to their website site looking for new private or patriarchal schools opened in the county. That is unusual.
Rebel Bert
If Leake County completes Consolidation they will be Region 2-5A. Vicksburg or Provine will drop to Region 3-5A. That will drop Sumrall to Region 7-4A. Lawrence County will slide to Region 6-4A. Either Mendenhall or Richland will move to Region 5. Then one of 3 Newton County, West Lauderdale, or NE Lauderdale will move north to Region 4-4A.
pancho
which of those last 3 is the most north on a map? I know WL has been placed in the region with Amory before.

I would think they would have to be independent for 1yr. You cant do reclassification for the teams who played 5a this yr and possibly move a team to 4a next yr. That would be total chaos. Every football team region schedule is pretty much set for 2026 as they will just flip the schedule for next yr of how you played this past yr

NC is further West and WL is slightly further North, maybe keep the Lauderdale schools together and just reproduction my Region 4 again with both. Yazoo City will have to come South with that thought.
