It's not that bad when I watch. I mean, yeah it's lower for those two guys but not unwatchable by any means.

Setting up a running thread for the season to drop the weekly episodes of the Varsity Voices podcast (State Championships Radio Network). They do two shows a week throughout the high school football season: Sunday Night / Monday Morning: Full weekend recap of Friday night action across the state. Mid-Week (Wednesday): Game previews, key matchups, and storylines for the upcoming week. Since these are recorded live, I’ll post the links in this thread as soon as they drop each week. The guys at Varsity Voices (State Championships Radio Network) dropped their complete 2026 MHSAA football season preview across two episodes. Part 1 (7A, 6A & 5A + All-State/Key Players List): They kick things off with the big schools, breaking down 73 teams across 12 regions. They also reveal their All-State player roster. Part 2 (4A, 3A, 2A & 1A): The second episode wraps up the state covering all 154 small-school programs across 32 regions. Loads of parity here, with three of the four state title games in these classes decided by six points or less last year. Good breakdown if you’re looking to get caught up on every classification before kickoff.

The Varsity Voices Podcast guys are back with a list of the greatest high school football coaches in Mississippi history? This episode ranks an official Top 10 based on overall accomplishments, state championships, program building, player development, and long-term impact on the game in Mississippi.

That tracks because that should have been Holmes County Central. And if Leake is combining, I'd expect them to jump up to 5A and be in that district with Holmes. So Holmes may have had to rearrange its schedule because of it.

Kosciusko Football posted that they are looking for a Week 3 opponent for this fall. The original Week 3 opponent would have been Leake Central. Now this isn't quite the smoking gun, but it's looking like that consolidation could be happening as early as this upcoming year.
