North/South State 2025 Scores and Updates

I’m gonna say something about Heidelberg. I usually have a lot of respect for Carter and their program. That school district is an absolute joke, that had an alcohol and weed party on school property just a few weeks ago that led to a shooting. But in spite of their incompetence as a school district, our coaches publicly took up for their staff and team after our first game against them. Now tonight, after a hard fought game, their coaches showed no class at all towards our team. Their coaches ran toward our sideline during the handshake and started grabbing their nutsacks and mocking us by “shooting hoops” at our team. All because we came out and physically went after them and gave them the closest game they have had since they played McCallie. Their coach was still throwing passes with less than a minute left trying to score because his ego was hurt because their streak of scoring 50 was about to end. Never again will I stick up for their program. Never again will I stick up for Daryll Carter. I hope east Webster beats them in Starkville.

I've never been much on calling out refs ,but these refs at Simmons was so obvious it should be looked into,how can you call pi when the receiver was never psychically touched? How can you call defensive holding on a play where the QB was running away from the line of scrimmage and sacked for a 10 yard loss? How can you call a false start talk about it, pick up the flag, place the ball then come back and move it back 5 yards for a  false start? If you can beat a team ,beat them you don't need the refs help,I pull for the south in state games ,but this was so obvious what was going on...I'll be pulling for Calhoun city 100%

Blame that on the 7 classes. All of the smaller schools are up north

Unfortunately you are probably right. They will be just as tough in 2026 as well. I think they will revert back to normal Heidelberg after next season though. Karma will catch up to them eventually. I just don’t think it will be on the field with all the talent they have anytime soon.

They will be good after craft and Moore leave but not this good. The question is, will Carter stay there after next season? Me personally, I hate that the Heidelberg players are receiving this much backlash just for winning. They can’t help how the fans act

I don’t hate anybody. But I do hate seeing coaches act like they did after the game. Disappointing to see the adults setting that kind of example for their players

They had 3 senior starters tonight on offense, but they had 7 senior starters on defense. And we rushed for 200 yards against them. We were the more physical team last night. But they just were way more athletic

There was a handful of players following their coaches lead but I’m not worried about that. Teenagers act like that. Most of their players were actually trying to shake our hands after a hard fought battle. What was disappointing was how their coaches acted. And you have never seen our coaching staff act anywhere close to that.

Was there bad calls yes but against both teams. Taylorsville had the ball on Simmons 6 yard line with 3 minutes but didn’t score but the refs cheated

Some new rule needs to be implimented:

All 2A/1A schools are combined

All schools over 125 students in grades 9-11 must play football or combine for football with another county school.

Then divide evenly North/South and so what if some schools play out of their class by location.

And what would be the purpose for this?  So if that dumb idea happened, would you call those schools 1a? the 3a schools 2a? 4a schools 3a? 5a schools 4a? 6a schools 5a?and the 7a schools 6a?

No strictly 1A or 2A. If I am correct Simmons was in the south with 6 classifications. With 7 it will be this way from now on without consolidation. Most don't want consolidation.  Money is not there for consolidation. It is needed in some Delta and Northeast Counties.
