This is the one I can't wrap my mind around.  I always thought of Sumrall as 2A or 3A. Where did they come from ?

Lamar Co. is booming outside of the Hattiesburg city limits. Purvis and Sumrall becoming 6a by 2029 would not shock me. I dont think it will happen by next reclassification but in 4yrs I can see it.

Yep, once Oak Grove filled up, Sumrall and Purvis following that same blueprint. And Columbia to some extent.

I'm not familiar enough with the area.  Which schools enrollment decreases as a result of students relocating to sumrall, purvis and columbia?

maybe Hattiesburg a little, but I think its more so that people are just moving to the west Hattiesburg area.

It has all the amenities, shopping, restaurants, etc. And also in search of better educations for their kids.

Same thing that made the Petal School district explode. You would be surprised how many people that live

in Petal and West Hattiesburg work in Laurel at Howard Industries too. They employ nearly 5000 people.

Can you imagine the number of holding calls in Brookhaven next Friday with this style of football.  Over the last few years WC has lost games like this one coming up.

I will have to say good job by the players. They deserved the chance to keep it going one more week.  I hope certain people are focused and work hard this week to prepare them. They will play hard but will have to execute better and not beat themselves to have a chance.

Before the sly smiles and winks start with the  long down trodden . It was South Jones. In the land of the blind the one eyed man is king

I will be pulling hard for Wayne Co. and Laurel this weekend. Only because I want to hear what slick will think of a South State final being between 2 teams with a losing record. I know he will hold nothing back. LOL

Hattiesburg,  Bassfield,  Prentiss, and to some extent Collins and Mt Olive. Kids are going off to school and living in West Hattiesburg after school or Petal.

JDC has literally taken over Hattiesburg... tbh from natchez to Collins has pretty much migrated to Hattiesburg.

That would be pretty epic. The rain looks to be lessening in probability so I am planning to be there just to get my own take of the game.

It's making the rounds that Hankins is leaving in January. This is a big game for him even if he doesn't change his tactics.

I told wareaglefan yesterday if WC wins this game Hankins will ride back tied on the hood of the bus with his shirt off screaming at cars.

And West Hattiesburg is pouring into the Baxterville/ Spring Hill area. Land has doubled in price there in the last five years  and they are clearing multiple subdivisions even with the high interest rates

That’s maybe the primary reason lumberton hasn’t been closed yet.  There’s been smoke for a while it would close and the kids roll into purvis.  But the rate of growth is higher than anticipated and starting to feed into lumbertons area.

There’s also been rumors a couple years of a new high school being built somewhere from highway 589 to Oloh that would take some kids from OG and sumrall. I think sumrall now building a brand new high school to deal with their growth.

This will be the Seventh time WC has played Brookhaven in the playoffs . All seven will have been played in Brookhaven.

I'm going too Vice.

They lost to Mcomb. Laurel should have beaten  Brookhaven if not for a fumble under two minutes going into score.  I think they are over hyped . These kids can win this game but they will need guidance,. They can't beat themselves with turnovers and penalties.

They are loading up the church vans bringing people from Wayne County .If we come out flat and unprepared anything could happen as far as the fanbase is concerned. People are tired of this brand of football.

Say what? Of all the WC-Brookhaven playoff matchups, WC has never hosted!

The brand of football doesn’t really bother me. For a while it was the inability or the stubbornness to make adjustments. And the complete incompetence on defense at times. The kids came out in the second half last week and played with heart. And without being super specific with a gameplan(I’m not on the coaching staff, just my observation) if we can tackle in space and stay in rush lanes against the QB on defense, dominate the LoS on offense and not kill ourselves with penalties then we can very much win this game.

I couldn’t believe it either when I looked it up .

The Graveyard does crazy things to these games. In all seriousness that’s a hard place to win it always seems to come down to a big call. No I’m not saying they cheat. I’m a firm believer to win a state championship you have to have three things. 1) Luck- you have to have the ball bounce your way be it Turnovers, kick off the upright or dropped pass something of that nature, 2) You have to stay healthy and not many teams do. 3) Breaks from the refs you have to have some calls go in your favor

Brookhaven calls their football field "The Graveyard"?
