Hattiesburg won’t be anywhere close to what they were last year. They blew a golden opportunity to win it in their back yard.

Although Grenada was really good. And the better coached team by a mile.

Good running teams can neutralize a high powered passing attack. If you can’t stop the run, and Hattiesburg couldn’t, then it’s gonna be a long night

@s1nglewingdo you converse?  I asked you a simple question that requires only a yes or no answer.  It's either "yes they did" or "no they didn't".  Shouldn't you know the answer to that question?

I believe you likely have the same googling skills as I do. I haven't talked to Hawk in years... nothing personal, just haven't.

Heidelberg has about 200 kids in HS; Hattiesburg about 1000... total for both.

There should not have have been any doubt about the outcome regardless of whether freshmen or sophomores were playing.

If putting lipstick on a pig makes it pretty then congratulations.

Funny thing about this whole situation is hburg lost every single spring/jamboree game with Vance. If I'm not mistaken lost to south Panola, NWR, Collins, tylertown (a few times) and one of those marion county teams. I didn't know spring was a clear cut indicator on how good you're going to be.

It definitely did not go the way I thought it would go last Friday.  HHS run game is gonna be fine. What they are going to need this season is the same thing they had last season in the passing game and that is another big time WR to take the pressure off Keys. Barnett was a godsend for HHS last season. The QB was looking downfield for Keys almost every time he got the snap from center and Heidelberg knew it. That was the reason he was picked off 4 times in 1st half.

From the Coast aspect, I heard Gulfport looked pretty decent versus Daphne . I was at the D'Iberville spring game versus Meridian and Meridian looked dang awful The Warriors had their way with them. Ladner feels the Warrior offense will carry them deep into the playoffs this year. He feels they will contend for the district title as long as their defense doesn't let him down. Long Beach sounds improved as well. Pass is talented and will be very successful as long as they all stay in Pass

Just finished the Loyd Star and Pisgah game, with LS winning 20-8. Pisgah didn’t look very impressive. They didn’t have much size and really didn’t have much athleticism either. But they played LS a lot tougher than I thought they would, and had it not been for several high snaps they could have won. Got to say, I expected alot more from Loyd Star. They must have lost more than I thought they did from last year.  They only had maybe 30 players, maybe less than that. Two good backs and one really tough linemen but they struggled with Pisgah.

Saw that Gulfport has picked up a new QB. That makes 3 schools in 3 years for him. Centreville, Silliman, now Gulfport.

I was thinking would be stacked this year. Maybe the baseball players didn't play since the season ended last week. If they don't have the size they will struggle with Quitman and Union.

Pisgah certainly struggled to move the ball after their first two series. 20-8 in one half? - I'd take it. I think both teams have some cleaning up to do, but I also think they'll be competitive next season.

Yes they did struggle, they constantly snapped the ball over the QB’s head. There was no way possible for them to sustain any kind of drive. Loyd Star I think will have a season next year that almost mirrors last season. I think they were the 3rd best team there today behind Raleigh and Bay Springs. Stringer also looked pretty impressive, I think they could very well win their district this year.

Pisgah did indeed lose their bigger boys to graduation. Playing time and gelling will tell how far they go in the playoffs.

Both of those teams are pretty young, too... if you want to take that into consideration

2 years ago Raleigh went to Pisgah and won 60-0. I said then that 2025 can be their year especially in 2A. We'll i think they can do well in Region 5 3A and be dangerous in post season. I wonder if #5 played last night. He's good at running the ball. He wasn't on the baseball roster.

#5 played for them yesterday. The biggest issue for Pisgah was their lack of size. They were pretty small across the board. They started out pretty good on the first couple series but every snap was high, and several went way behind the QB which killed all of their drives.
