I guess Williams felt like 3 trips to state in 4 years and still no championship to show for it meant time to leave. He’ll definitely make more bank at UMS.

Anyone think there are other big name head coaches of programs in MS who could throw their names in for this job? Would be interesting to see a rival team lose their coach to a team they’d face in the fall.

Based on the criteria for AD /Head Coach at Brandon i take that person doesn't teach much. See MHSAA/JOBS

Surprised the AD position isn’t separate from HFC position. Helps increase HFC $$$ when combined, but that’s a lot of responsibility throughout the year. Especially at a 7A program, at a school where all sports expect to be successful year in and year out.

I heard the coaching search will be nation wide

Yeah ok. I am sure that Brandon has hired a search committee and they will be traveling all over the country to find the right coach. If you had said the southeast I would have believed you.

One can only believe that he means there is a Brandon Alum coaching west of the MS and he’s one of the guys interviewing.

Brandon is in a bit of an identity crisis with their job posting.  Do they want a HFC or an AD?  It seems to me like it would make better sense if it was two separate positions.  Do you want this guy to have some family time or not?

The football coach is the AD at several of the Jackson Metro schools. It’s a pretty normal thing.

You are correct. It's how they bump the HFC pay. If they were separate jobs they'd have to make sure the AD pay was higher than the HFC every time they searched.
