Everyone is playing armchair QB so to speak. I believe Reynolds would be a good hire. He has several years under Bubba Davis followed by a several years under Marcus Boyles at Petal. He had some personal issues and lost his Dad while at SJ that all led do his departure. But I’m still hearing Mitch Evans . But you never know what the school board has in mind. WC played the same game when Coach Mangum retired and it backfired. They went through two coaches in three seasons the last was an interim hire during Covid. There's no reason why Wayne County shouldn't be playing football after Thanksgiving this November. I realize that's a bold statement, but I feel confident and comfortable with it. You don’t worry about what I get or don’t get there sparky. Now that it’s over , I put that up there as a favor to somebody that does get it. I don’t even know if Brady even applied for sure or not. I will let my batting average on here speak for itself. Somebody asked was it even voted on. Yes Corey’s old buddy from South Jones threw his name out there for a vote and it was voted down by one vote. Now that the curtain has been pulled back West Jones community has taken notice and you can bet they won’t sneak any good old boys through again. Maroontide this isn’t a parable but it’s some advice from an old boss I had when I first graduated college. I bought a new truck paid for it , traded it for another one right after because it was wore out as it was the only ride I had .so I drove it. It was looking like the same with the second. I was complaining about it one day and he told me “ Son a car is not an investment, it’s an expense. You need to invest in having good credit. You are smart figure out the rest.” Two months later I leased my next new truck and have leased another new ride every three years since then. By the time you pay for a new auto, with what you are going to spend on tires brakes and repairs you will spend less on a lease and be driving a new one every few years. You got good credit you can drive one away in one the same day with no money down. Repairs , oil changes and other maintenance is all on them. That old long gone gray beard was right. Good credit is the best investment you can ever make. That’s my long winded speech for the week. Good luck with the hire Mustangs. I said this when the news that he was retiring come out. The wait is 90 days from the time of his resignation. But with this school board you never know if they would allow that. Brady has been looking for other jobs the last few years dude. Coaches want to better themselves. If west jones will hire him, he’s gone. And he will do a great job there. That’s not insignificant. SJ has historically been a bad job in football in the last 25 years and he made them competitive, and they went back down again after he left. Todd Breland couldn’t win there, but Reynolds did. Like I said, I have no skin in the game on this at all, but don’t see why it couldn’t work out well for West. Reynolds also had criminally underrated Scottie Phillips at RB those years at SJ. But yes he beat WJ twice and it’s the only games WJ has lost to SJ since 1999.
