The CL has had some really good journalists come through over the years (Ian Rapoport, Sekou Smith, Will Sammon, even Rick Cleveland, among orhers) and they have still absolutely sucked as a paper forever.

Well Kliff Kingsbury is now available LOL!  He probably wants to stay in the NFL (if at all possible), but part of me wonders if he would want to get back into college football to kind of recharge his career.  I'm sure there's probably some NFL teams out there salivating at the mouth to get him on their staff in some form or fashion though, but who honestly knows?

The Clarion Ledger of the 1970’-1980’s was a good sports rag though they were always historically an Ole Miss paper (no surprise there as the Journalism school was at Ole Miss, Ole Miss was the stronger football program from the late 40’s into the 1970’s-80’s and the Hederman family were Ole Miss people).

They did have some excellent sports writers through the years like 83 mentioned above.

But like all newspapers, their influence and viability have gone to just about zero over the last 15-20 years.

I cannot remember the last time I read an article that they published online or in print.

If he comes back to college it will be as a head coach, but I’m guessing he’s an NFL guy now.

I guess this question just popped into my brain, but what is Joe Judge doing right now?  I figure he’s in the NFL somewhere and I guess has no desire to get back into college football, but if he did is the bridge with Mississippi State still standing or did it get burned 3 years ago?

I thought UGA would win.  Maybe by two TDs.  I did not see that ass whipping coming.  TCU looked like they had not seen any Georgia film at all.  Defensively, they had no clue what was going on.

Bennett with 4 passing TDs and 2 rushing TDs.   What are the odds he could possibly end up being the next Drew Brees.  Or at least the next Chase Daniel.  Lol

Yeah that was bad, TCU. Kinda sucks for them that they had this amazing season but all anyone will remember is them getting beat like an FCS team.

Not much to say about Georgia at this point. They’re a machine now that’s finally living up to their potential.

That beat down was shades of the State women losing to uconn in the sweet sixteen 98-38.
At least State came back the next year and beat connecticut in the Final Four.

Doubt TCU gets a chance to exorcise this demon   anytime in the near future.
Georgia left no doubt that they are king of the hill right now.
I went to bed in the second quarter LOL.
We lost 45-19 to Georgia and I thought we played well. And had a couple of things gone our way, it could been a closer game in the fourth quarter. Georgia just has no weaknesses. Even if they don’t play too well in a given game, they are still solid across the board.

Did you dream about Marcus Boyles?  I think good things are headed Meridian's way.

I think it is great news. I honestly did not think there was any chance that this could happen. However , Cheyenne Trussell is an excellent AD and he was probably the only person that was capable of getting Coach Boyles to Meridian. Meridian has been one of the standard bearers for high school football in Mississippi for over one hundred years. I do believe he can lead us back to that standard again. It will be a challenge but I think the community will respond in kind. So I hope for good days on the horizon.

State loses QB’s to Baylor and Wisconsin, and OM loses their backup to Illinois.  Both schools had some talent at that position.

I’m guessing both need a backup from the portal now.

It’s tough with the two State guys, they were out of state guys that really wanted to play for Mike Leach, and then the unthinkable happened.

I figured Altmyer wasn’t long for Ole Miss once Dart came in.

Altmyer isn't a D1 QB

Well he is going to Illinois who under Bielema is going to be a run first type offense. He may fit well into that kind scheme where they are not completely depending on him to win a game.

I wish him well. Seems like a good young man. His dad is an excellent orthopedic doctor. My wife saw him in Columbus some years back and he is one of State’s team doctors as well. Good family.

With Chris Parson coming in and hopefully the future at QB State needs to at least to find a suitable back up QB to bridge Rogers to Parsons over the year or two.

I would like to think that is a priority for Zach Arnett, but does he want to get the OC position settled before he goes shopping for a QB in the portal?

It does seem that State has been focusing on defensive players in the portal.

Well they were after defensive backs before the QB's decided to enter the portal, but now I would think since they've got the DB's now they can go after a QB.  I just don't know if they want the future OC to be a part of that process.
