I feel like Pascagoula is really the only team who might lose at home, just due to how inconsistent they can look at times.

Well if the Goula team that played George Co last night shows up they are going to be tough to beat. Also Deuce Knight could give West Jones fits as well. Picayune should have a hot clock by halftime vs PRC

I believe that Hattiesburg, Picayune, Pascagoula, and West Jones are all good enough to win the South. I also think Terry and George County are capable of surprising a 2 seed as well. It is going to be a really, really good playoff year for South  6A.

You just can't overlook anybody this time of year, and you've got to play well.

West was running last night with a patchwork o line. Backup center was a big issue he kept rolling snaps to the qb.  One George county recovered. Left tackle went to right guard at one point.  A d line as was playing d tackle and o guard at one point.  The big rb came off limping on wests 3rd possession and was out for a few possessions.  And the GC qb, if west didn’t have him on the ground or he wasn’t running if he had more than 2 seconds to throw the west db’s would lose coverage and got burned.

West had GC 3rd and 10 fro the WJ 45 with just over 3 minutes left.  They blitzed a safety leaving zero safety coverage.  This is something west frequently did and I know Hattiesburg picked up on it as they caught west several times last week with it.  That qb threw a 6-8 yard post route that was caught and the only db within 10 yards totally whiffed on the tackle.  Turned into the deciding td.  Because west never once figure out how to disguise that blitz.

West gets the ball on their 31 after kickoff.  Have trouble getting the play in. Obvious confusion by the offense. Barely missed getting delay of game call, snap is bad qb recovers but sacked.  No timeout called west has 2.  Again slow getting the play call in and once ball snapped again it’s bad qb has to scramble but whole play busted lost more yards.  No time out.  3rd down incomplete pass.  4th and 20 complete pass that looks to have the first bit a horrible spot. Turnover on downs. 1:07 left.  Gc snaps the qb trots around west defense doesn’t even rush to tackle like they expected a knee.  Game ends with fans and assistant coaches screaming at the head coach.  One assistant in the press box nailed the box window screaming at the coach.  Players have been quoted after the game telling friends and family that the coach gave up on them the last offensive possession.

There has been some rumors of some behind the things going on that weren’t good since last year. Somewhat kept quiet.  After the way this ended I doubt it will be for long.

The west 4th down with the bad spot I’m bout to post pictures if I can figure it out.

Injuries happen and bad calls happen. Sometimes you're on the good side and sometimes you're not. Where were those "rumors" last yr when WJ was whoopin everyone? Why is it that rumors are so abundant now?

Sorry, but scoring only 20 vs a dismal PRC team should've been a HUGE red flag. What did you honestly think the ceiling was for this team?

The rumors started in the spring. The head principle, the one that passed away early in the year, handled some things so it wasn’t as exposed.  And these havnt exactly been a great secret.  Some of it’s been circulating a while.

This team had no reason not being at least in the 2nd round.  And annythung less than south staye sppearance would be a let down.  Everyone knew the defense lost everything and would be the question mark.  If they held opponents to 20 they would be a contender. And honestly they did their part.  The offense brought back all the firepower and was expected to score 35-40 every game. But that never happened. No imagination on offense, no ever changing up anything. No new formations. No developing any wr’s that didn’t have stone hands or run faster than 4.7 in 2 years with over 90 kids on the roster in a school with student population over 800 and there no wide receivers?  The worst kicking game that west has had since the turn of the century?  Please.

If your Gona run 95% of the time and with a huge offensive line and a big rb like west had then line up under center with 2 or 3 backs along with qb.  Do it like West Point and picayune has.  Don’t go this spread offense bull crap with only 1 back that now has 3-4 more yards to run to get to the line of scrimmage.

Goula vs Hattiesburg

George co vs Picayune

Who advances to south state?

I don’t know if I’m ready to even attempt to answer that question.  Pascagoula has gotten extremely hot and when George County is on, they are a legitimate threat.  The home teams might have a slight advantage, but it won’t take much to negate that either.

Given our history with coast teams and our history with Pascagoula, they definitely have the advantage point blank. Hattiesburg has to do these three things and nothing less to be able to win. Win the SPECIAL TEAMS, Win in DISCIPLINE, and Win playing GOOD MENTAL FOOTBALL which we have not done all three the last several games. This is the game I’ve been waiting on since last season.

The Hattiesburg defense will have to match the skill of Pascagoula’s offensive pieces.

How good is your defensive line?

I think we are pretty stout on the defensive line personally. From the looks of it Hattiesburg and Pascagoula sounds to be very similar on offense skilled player wise weapons all over the board. Only difference is Hattiesburg has a 5 star junior receiver.

How many years has Vance been the starter?

Corder had started for multiple seasons and has become a masterful distributor.

This is possibly his first full season starting without being injured and being completely healthy. 2021 injured, 2022 injured latter half of season, last year almost played full season I believe. We will have our hands full with Corder. Outside of Knight he will be the first established QB we have played against all season.

Corder is a good one.
