Without getting into an argument about Geography … historically Picayune plays a much more physical brand of football than most teams on the coast. OS beating OG last year was an anomaly compared to most seasons.

I agree. It amazes me how much teams gift wrap turnovers against OS in the games I watch. They’re certainly an opportunistic bunch. I’m rooting for Daniel Hill to get some playoff success before it’s all over. He’s been the face of that program the last 4-5 years through the ups and downs and he’ll be the best player on the field Friday.

Clinton has way too much talent to be what they were this year. I also expected Laurel to be much better. But hell they still could win 5a south.

And honestly… just in 5a there’s a bunch of teams that are traditionally good football programs but right now they’re down for whatever reason. That’s not something the association can do anything about.

Pearl is about as bad of a draw as Gulfport could have gotten as a reward for being the 2 seed. They’re about what and what talent wise from what I saw. What could possibly make Meridian tough is the coach roaming the sidelines. He just finds a way to score points. You think it’s as simple as shutting down a one dimensional team until that team has the best player on the field. Which is why I want to know if Hill played against Pearl last week. But anyway… OS probably has the best linebacker group in the playoffs compared to Brandon and OG so.. that’ll make a difference

That’s not exactly uniform across the board.. but mainly in the smaller classifications. I’m not about to fake outrage over first round games I don’t care about to begin with. The bigger schools are still playing regular season ball. It’s essentially a meaningless week for most of them.

I’m not as anti 7 classifications as most but I do agree there needs to be some consolidation.

I’ll never agree with 3 playoff teams. 4 is fine.

5a north has some good playoff teams. 5a south on the other hand….
