I tried to tell you 2 months ago how valuable that bye week was gonna be lol.

Good to see WJ play somebody with a pulse this week! On a serious note though… how does Prep compare to MRA? If they’re anything close to that it’ll be a really good test for WJ from a coaching standpoint at the very least. I plan on tuning in since my guys are on bye week.

It’s fine. I get a few 5a and 6A schools mixed up as far as classification goes sometimes. And Noxubee being a south team is asinine. Other than that no real complaints. I don’t pay much attention to small school ball I’m sure there are some issues there.

I’m not familiar….Is that a private school?

I agree. I’ve watched WJ for myself I know they’re very good. And by the same token I can point out that schedule is charmin soft. At least they’ve handled every team convincingly.

I expected WC and Laurel to be much better then they are. Idk why y’all still schedule those other Jones schools. I’m sure they’re good for the gate but for the sake of competition they’re not helping. Be that as it may….don’t be surprised if fans around the state want to see WJ beat a legit contender at some point.

Hard to gauge how they’d do with someone else’s schedule. I do think they are very talented based on what I saw for myself. With a freshman QB they woulda definitely lost to Brandon and that school out of Baton Rouge. In my opinion.

2 things… Wasn’t Picayune down like 3 scores before making the comeback? I’d say there was at the very least a pretty substantial drop off initially. Sounds like your defense brought you back . I’m going to watch the replay here in a bit If it turns out there isn’t a drop off though, I think it says more about the system Picayune has in place offensively and the way they can make magic no matter who’s in that backfield.

For sure. And I was able to make it back to the hometown for the weekend to catch it live. I don’t expect to steam roll everyone. Just wanna see us be a little more consistent on the defensive side of the football. Hell we’ve already had two heart attack classics in 4 weeks.

Absolutely. But I’d imagine we’d be humming by the time that matchup happens if it happened. I’m kinda banking on our experience starting to really kick in by November. That’s the hope

Which is why the game being so close is so remarkable. There were times in the game where OG’s talent jumped off the screen and there were also times where MRA’s scheme and quality level of coaching jumped off the screen. Personally I would pump the breaks on crowning OG. While very good, they have some flaws that may or may not get fixed this year.

No. Like I said, the defense just isn’t very good. At least right now. That was the first real QB we faced and he had his way with us. But MRA would do that to a lot of teams with their offense. They’re just that well coached.
