If and when that switch comes on for OG defensively, it’s a wrap.

Our saving grace has honestly been special teams in that regard. With our kicker you literally have to drive 80 yards every possession if you don’t get a turnover.

It’s the only real chink in the armor I’ve seen. That and offsides or false start penalties. The DL has been dealing with conditioning and lil injury nags. The LBs are just straight up not executing well for 4 quarters. If anyone asked me as a fan what I’m worried about the most it would be that.

I looked Pulaski up on max preps. Seem like they win state damn near every year up there. I’m not in tune with the level of competition though

That’s a positive way to look at it in some divisions. But in OUR division that’s not happening. Especially at 2-8.

We should never host high school state championship games at a high school stadium. Even the biggest one.

Lol, you would think the top private school team vs arguably the top public school in the state would get more pub than some of those Enterprise topics. Kinda crazy what this forum has become.

Clarksdale hasn’t sniffed a state title game since 2006 I believe. Charleston has made an appearance several times in that time frame.

I tell you what… Gulfport is playing much better than I expected them to after what I saw vs OG in the jamboree. They may very well give Picayune some problems

Yea idk about Hattiesburg… probably should have beat Petal I guess? You beat Laurel. And obviously no one can knock you for losing to OG.

Wouldn’t surprise me if MRA moves the ball myself actually. I expected our defense to be much more consistent than they have been with all the talent they have. The DL I spoke about hasn’t played a bunch of snaps together and the entire LB group hasn’t tackled well the last 2 weeks. If they don’t clean that up it may turn into a shootout. I don’t think MRA will stop OG on offense much at all.

If we’re just talking 7a vs 4a…. Yea generally Petal should win that game. Columbia has more talent than Petal right now though

Hoping for some insight mainly from the private school guys here. I don’t keep up with private school ball much at all but I have watched a little bit of MRA. The QB is a D1 talent and they look pretty disciplined. I think OGs overall team speed will overwhelm them though. I don’t think OG played very well against Hattiesburg especially defensively. And they had a lot of pre snap miscues. But I do think they had to overcome the Hoover win hangover which is tough when you have to play a cross town rival. I’d like to see us shore up the run D these next couple of weeks. I’m not sure if our D line isn’t conditioned right now or isn’t healthy but I’d like to see the D1 trio of Maddox, Moore, and Owens play a full game together for once.

You didn’t give us nothing. That’s one of the worst OG games I’ve ever watched. We had almost 10 penalties in the first quarter alone.

You beat East Central and Greene County. Neither one of those teams are very good. You need great players to beat the Picayunes, Hattiesburg’s, and Wayne County’s of the world.
