Neither school plays in the highest classification where coast schools have minimal playoff success. Ocean Springs shoulda threw a parade for making it to south state for the first time in God knows how long.

Glad Causey wised up. We would run Ocean Springs in the ground next season. There’s a difference between having a great team and having a great program.

I’m usually a little more reserved on predictions but OG is set to be pretty loaded next year. 6 D1 returning starters so far including two D lineman with multiple SEC offers. It’s no wonder Causey felt confident enough to put Hoover on the schedule.

That’s fair. I just don’t notice a huge difference between the last weekend in August and the first week in September. That’s just my opinion though

I’m probably in the minority but August games don’t bother me. The primary reason most people complain about them is because of the heat. They’ve already pushed back early season game kickoff times to 7:30. And they give players the necessary heat timeouts. Don’t even get me started on people complaining that don’t even attend live games.

8 games ? That’s a Junior high schedule.

We did. Causey expects OG to be one of if not the best team in 7A next year. We’ll go over and see how we stack up against one of the best in Alabama.

Next year’s OG squad (should) be good enough to play with anyone. Depending on QB play.

Unless they have some more Hubbards growing on trees in Ocean Springs this years team was most likely their peak for a while.

Even if money does talk… I pay close attention to who posts what on here to measure the level of credibility I should take into account.

Causey will have the most loaded OG team he’s had since he took the reins from Barr next year. He’s a lot smarter than that.

If you think Causey would leave Oak Grove to go to Meridian that’s laughable.
